Hell, horrible news...hope everything is OK for Sam Murray.
OK, Nathan Murphy come on down.
With our defence now just the height and experience of a sapling, we will need our midfielders more than ever to apply extreme pressure. Not a great time to be debuting a defender....but we need to make sure that we play so that the ball does not come in fast to our defence. We need to win central clearances, and apply immense pressure at each and every contest. Definitely foul weather, with rain and hail, is good for us now, to ensure that the ball does not come in fast to our decimated defence.

and Take our Chances in front of Goal as well

This is annoying as it's one of the few times we have had no changes. But I also think Nathan Murphy gives a bit more flexibility. If needed he could also play forward with Mihocek going back. Murphy has played multiple roles in the twos. I know he's still learning the caper but he is a fierce competitor.
Good luck to him on his debut & I hope all is well with Murray.

Good luck to Murphy. The steal of the draft at 39.

On the bright side, Madgen, Murphy and Oxley have played lots of football together this year, so hopefully they can work together well.

Liked Port before they joined the AFL. Then they tried to argue they should wear black and white and stripes! This from a club who changed its original colours to black and white. I have no warmth towards them anymore.
what were its original colors?

Blue and white, then they added magenta

They played in those colours until 1901, adopting the black and white and the nickname The Magpies in 1902, 6 years after Collingwood.

so they were copy cats then.

I wonder if Keeffe would be getting a game if he were still with us?

The Bombers showed us that you have to play risky football to beat the Tigers. They absolutely can't tolerate it when the opposition takes the game on. Richmond intimidate opposition into playing safe football. Just have a crack and make some mistakes. Totally gettable!

Yes. Richmond usually win in such situations because they have built up a significant lead before the opposing team decides it has to take the game on. The lesson is: take the game on from the very start, something we are very capable of.
Umpiring decisions I thought also went Richmond's way, and this really annoys me. It seems that the umpires adopt a default position: if in doubt, pay the free to the reign ing Premiers. Did it in regard to Hawthorn, and now see this repeated for Richmond.

^^This. So much blocking at both ends. Lots of holding. Constant appealing to umpires for free kicks and to parody Jerry Lee Lewis there is "a whole lotta fakin' going on!"

^ What is their injury situation? That's far more important than the match result at this stage. Unfortunately, they seem to have been resting players since last round.

They have a healthy list. That being said, they would want to hope that any one of Rance, Cotchin, Martin and Nankervis don't go down because I don't believe their depth players are able to come in and have the impact that ours have. Richmond rely heavily on those four guys.
