They have a healthy list. That being said, they would want to hope that any one of Rance, Cotchin, Martin and Nankervis don't go down because I don't believe their depth players are able to come in and have the impact that ours have. Richmond rely heavily on those four guys.

So, as usual, a bit of blood but no real injuries? Sigh... Expect Rance or Martin to be rested next week, I suppose, just as Cotchin and Nankervis appear to have been. They "deserve" all four to go down in a knock-out final.

Yes, but only if he could demonstrate compliance with the Three Golden Rules of selection at Collingwood this season. As you know, these are:

1: The player must have two working knees.

2: The player must have at least one good hamstring, automatic pick if he has two of them.

3: If possible, the player should also have a pulse.

I kind of feel like just about anyone would be...

You think he'd have a sniff, do you?

Do we even have any available defenders who aren't playing tomorrow?

You mean key defenders or anyone at all? Smith is a defender of sorts...

Tyler Brown. I think he's the last packet of bikkies in the pantry and he's not ready yet.

Wouldn't be Collingwood without some sort of late out before the game. Fortunately though and with all due respect (hoping Murray's ok), this time I believe it's for an upgrade. I'm excited to see what Murphy will bring, he might be a little green and light on but you won't be left wondering with this kid.

This is going to be a tough game. With our selected defence you'd expect we'd struggle.

Even Dixon missing is a negative for mine. Usually removing a tall from a forward line improves it. That's not the case with Dixon, but with our current mess of a defence an opposition that lowers its eyes to a mobile forward line is the most dangerous. The buddy conscious Swans were not a problem (73 points), the stupidly tall Lions were not a problem (73 points). A forward line with Gray, Wingard, Watts etc and less predictable, more targeted movement will be more difficult.

Long kicks are easy to deal with, they don't need a tight, cohesive defence. A moving, mobile forward line is going to cause our cobbled together defence far more problems. We're going to need to be on top in the midfield and have our mids helping out in defence, that makes winning extremely tough.

I'm actually rapt to see Murphy get a game. The kid looks a keeper to me. He plays tall, is fast and incredibly fierce and competitive at the ball. I see him as a 10 yr player for us.

However, if you'd told me at the start of the season that we'd be playing to stay in the 8 with a defence comprising Madgen, Murphy and Oxley I'd have never believed it.

Nathan Buckley, if you snare us a victory today you deserve a statue outside our headquarters and an immediate 5 yr contract extension. Go Pies!
