I must say, I am keen to see how the kid goes. People (including people inside the club) have been saying that he was a top 10 talent (like they said about Beams incidentally) and that we would have taken him as high as 6 if we didn't get Stevo (something that is easy to say after you got Stevo at 6). He has the background that tells me he will excel. He appears to have that temperament as well.

I wish him well. Not expecting too much this year, but nonetheless, if he can show he belongs at this level (even if not on a consistent basis just yet), I will be super excited. If Scharenberg really is toast, it would be nice to hope that we might have a possible replacement coming through.

Good to see him getting a go. I hope Murray is okay.

I'd be interested in how the VFL regulars rate Murphy - I know MagpieBat, Stui, DTM, Frankie and others will have a view

Great to see #28 out there. Rapt he gets a game and getting a finals type game into kids is enormous.

Not sure I can help much, unlike others who actually go to the games. I've probably watched a half dozen odd on video. From what I've seen of Murphy, he looks like a natural.. good grab, thumping kick and a real goer. Would like to see a couple more games but I think he's an upgrade on Murray. Different players of course but I think we need his type more.

I have a good feeling about this lad.
He will build his game around his stamina and toughness. He's a real goer with natural football mean.

Congrats to the kid.

If it wasn't for the injuries I think 2018 would have just been a development year, but I like what I've seen of him. Seems to have put on a bit of size since he was drafted, but standing next to a solid AFL body he'll proably look like a pipe cleaner.

Has good hands, good disposal, quick enough and goes hard at it. Nothing not to like. Nice size and can play tall so could take a 3rd tall or a small. Definitely doesn't come across as laconic on the field.

I've only seen Murphy on telly in the VFL, but he looks a real goer to me, with great skills and a super competitive instinct.

I have little doubt Murphy is going to be a player. Not a good time for him to be debuting, but hope hope he goes well.
