And BTW - still see their VFL side in the top 4 also?? I would say none - this club and it's supporters have a lot to be proud of no matter what the rest of the year deals up. |
No, Williamstown won, so we will drop to 5th |
Sh*t - ok, replace top 4 with 5 for VFL then...how many?? _________________ Toby for President |

Sitting in the stand looking at the 3 guys inside 50 for us at the centre bounce, Oxley, Madgen and Murphy. Mighty fine effort on these boys part and the every player in general.
Somethings going right and we just gotta keep rolling with it |

Firstly to the posters who during the game day thread decided to show up when things aren't going well and start there usual diatribe about Buckley and the players hang your heads in shame
Yes we are ordinary and it was horrible to watch but at the end of the day we won and you only ever get 4 points no matter how pretty the win looks or doesn't in the this case
The same said posters then quickly disappear and can't be bothered coming in and at a minimum share there thoughts after a win
Rant over
Top 4 is a fantastic achievement considering who isn't playing in this team
Elliott Reid Moore Trelaor Scharenberg Howe Wells would all be certain starters and Goldie Faz would be pushing for spots. Basically 1/3rd of our best 22 not on the park says a lot about the way the coaching group has got every player on our list marching to the beat of the same drum. Kudos to all the coaches well done
Be honest with yourself had you been offered a top 4 finish and a likley MCG final in week 1 would you have accepted that ? I would have jumped at the chance
You have to wonder if the cementing of s finals spot last week, then traveling to Perth against a side who were embarrassed last week looking to make amends then the Murray saga you wonder if the players weren't 100% switched on which to me it appeared.
Yes we have some holes in the side but Howe will be back week 1 and maybe Moore Trelaor and Goldie as well so there's loads of experience ready to come in (hopefully on a couple of them)
It will at a minimum add some starch to our defence
A week off to lick our wounds and get cherry ripe for whatever awaits us from here on
A win in September would be fantastic and for mine would be w bonus given the players we are missing
If this side has shown anything this season it's that they will give everything they have and won't lay down against anyone

No judgement from me at his age, and the players up-field were down, but today was his worst performance so far by a margin. |
It was his 2nd game. 🤔 _________________ Collingwood forever, forever Collingwood |

We got the win, all that matters, a week off to recharge and work on our game with whoever we are playing. Well done to checkers, what a pick up. We were pretty off today but still took the points, it’s a good sign, hopefully with some good ins we can give the tigers or eagles a good game.
If this was our best team I would be worried, but as it’s not Ivan only be optimistic over the next few weeks. Go pies!! |

He was shaky early, under extreme pressure but those grabs running back with the flight were inspirational _________________ Formally frankiboy and FrankieGoesToCollingwood. |

Ugly, ugly ugly win. Take it and move on to finals.
We desperately need to replace Oxley and particularly Murphy who might be a future player but so far has had one so-so and one awful game. Can't rely on him.
Hopefully Mayne and WHE will be available for finals. Badly need Howe back as well. Madgen has stood up better than Murphy or Oxley, replacing him with Goldsack could be an option but it's not clear cut.
Our undermanned defence again did the job though, keeping Freo to 67. Most we've conceded since losing Howe is 73 points. Unbelievable really given how vulnerable we've looked.
I'd be more confident of our chance in finals if we replace Murphy and Oxley with Howe and Treloar. _________________ Well done boys! |

Goldsack wont be ready for a few more weeks yet, lets face it. At best, we get Howe, Treloar and Moore back - Howe week 1 of finals and if we are lucky, the other 2 later and maybe Sack then. I say we just go forward with what we have and do our best - it may not be the season we win finals but by damn its the season that defined this club for the future - to be where we are with the injuries we have sustained is nothing short of excellent - bring on 2019.. _________________ Toby for President |
