Actually feel a bit sorry for Richmond. They were easily the best team in the home and away and deserve more credit for their season from the AFL. As for the pre-game media hype building up the Richmond-Collingwood rivalry quoting the voluminous ravings of past champion players from the 1980 GF and quoting the dickhead comments from a deceased Richmond champion who reminds me of the character Jock, from David Williamson’s play, “The Club”, all I can say is what a big media beat up that was.

Having got that out the way I’ll just quote what the coach and all the players were saying after the game. There’s four quarters to go.

I disagree. If their complete lack of injuries was by design rather than luck, then whoever is responsible for that deserves credit. (I don't know who that would be. Their fitness guy has been there a lot longer than their run of no injuries.) Otherwise, ...

I’m glad they didn’t have any injuries. It makes our win even more momentous.

Yes, it does, though we'll need to solve our injury problems after next week.

Yes. Bali a notorious place for injuries. They should pick another destination.

Richmond had a shots on goal inside the first minute in Q1, Q3 and Q4. They kicked 2 goals 1.

Need to make sure we don't allow the easy shot at goal so early in each quarter.

Actually very true. Not so much injuries as tourist deaths. Can't they afford more luxurious locales with lower body counts?

I've said it before, that if we hadn't had such a disastrous run of injuries - to key players - this year, we would have finished top of the ladder and been red hot flag favourites. Getting back, Treloar, Howe and Goldy for the finals has set us up perfectly. Nothing can stop us now! Go Pies!

Fkn Brilliant.

Fun fact, I just realised we've never lost a grand final when I've watched from my current home.

The 70's, 80's and 2002-3 I watched in Toc.

1990 I watched from here. We won

2010 I went to the first match for a draw, stayed home watched the replay from here, we won.

2011 I went to the game, we lost.

Guess where I'm watching the GF this year. Very Happy

The injuries are quite irrelevant. If Grundy or Sidebottom was out, it’d be season over but they’ve been fit and well in almost all games. We can cover all of the rest, although Cox and Treloar and Langdon are important structurally. Most of the players in the team are better than the players they have replaced.
