Matty Lloyd, what the hell are you on ?? Three weeks ago, on Footy Classified, YOU were marvelling and rapt about our Pies forward line, saying its like Richmonds. one key big forward, surrounded by a bevy of multiple goal kickers, similar to the Tigers set up. You were raving about us, up forward, tho you did have reservations about our backline, due to injuries to key backs, which is fair enough. However, last night, you changed tack totally, you said we have ONE key forward, which is De Goey, and we tend to rely on him far too much, like the Giants game. ?? Umm...…… Hello, Matty, you do realise we have up forward, Mihochek, Hoskin Elliott, Stephenson, man mountain Cox, all of whom can kick multiples of goals ????
How come you changed your tune ?? Even Caro pulled you up, she said, " Geez, you had a go at their defence, now you are sledging their forwards, how did they get to make Third on the Ladder then "?
Matty Lloyd, please do a Hanson, Please explain. !!!!!

Before last Saturday's game, I watched the program where he was commenting on why GWS would win blah, blah, blah...
I smiled and said to myself: that means the Pies will prevail!
These non-Collingwood "people" lacks something that we Collingwood supporters automatically possess: intelligence and faith!
Ignore them. Go Pies! |

Why think about it ?
Ex footballer. Now football media. No preparation or research required to do the job. The job is to fill air time with meaningless BS, not to undertake a competent assessment. It doesn't matter what is said. No point listening to them. |

That's why he isn't a coach. He's clueless. |

He actually backed us most of the year as the most likely to trouble Richmond for the flag, so it’s a little weird.
These so called experts like to flip flop weekly based on the prior weekend’s results, led by David King. They rarely have any idea what they said from more than a few weeks ago. They simply watch footage, then ‘dissect’ it in hind sight to criticise whoever lost that week.
Remember, Mark Ricciouto once asked his co ‘expert’ commentator what the “G” stood for on the stats and heat map onscreen. The response from his co pilot? “Ah, that would be ‘goal’.” Yes, these are our on air ‘experts.” _________________ Est. 2002 |

You left Thomas out of your list.....who kicked 4 last time against the Tiges and our first couple or so on the weekend.
I agree with Raw H, he has generally been more in our camp than not versus other commentators, but has changed his tune and flip flopped. _________________ One team, one dream - the Pies and this year's premiership |

Making the point that in the last 3 weeks we haven't managed to kick 80 points which is valid and largely down to our lack of a good key marking forward. _________________ Brown re his GF omission:

Lloyd is right. We have morphed from a team with one tall knocking it down and a fleet of clever mediums into a team with one not-very-accurate medum marking forward and not much else. We have become de Goey-centric, and are playing the worse for that. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

Two of these games played in Perth, two of these games in wet conditions, two of these games in finals pressure football (not many other scores have been big either), and we kicked 9.14 in cold wet windy conditions (should’ve been 14.9, so we weren’t starved of opportunities.
We have a fleet footed but mostly light framed forward line, not suited to slippery right pressure finals football. The drier conditions on friday will suit us (unfortunately, they will suit Richmond too). _________________ Est. 2002 |

Thomas should’ve kicked 4, Stephenson kicked 0.3, Mihocek kicked 1 and missed one, WHE kicked 1 and nearly held a few more. It was wet. GWS kicked just 7 goals before two lte kinky goals.

Sure. But did you ask yourself why?
It was because they were all under instructions to clear out and make space for de Goey to run into. So when our other forwards got the pill, they were mostly a long way out, or deep in the pockets, or taking a snap from heavy traffic out of the flood.
Our bad kicking was a symptom of our de Goey-centric setup. We were better before de Goey got injured, back when he did plenty of midfield minutes and players like Stevo and WHE shared the duty in the square. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

I also think his view had changed on the back of Cox inability to hit the scoreboard in the last three weeks ( 1 goal and zero points in last three weeks )
We’re all different in our opinions of “ paid to comment “ media people but I find Lloyd very knowledgable and pragmatic in his thoughts on the game.
He doesn’t over complicate his analysis and it’s usually very valid.
To each his own, I guess.
The comment that shocked me was Judd’s comments about possibly Miochek making way for Moore. Seriously, W T F . |
