Pass.

We've got a small forward already.

His name is Jamie Elliott.

Besides if we want a crumber I'd rather some indigenous talent on the list or that young academy player of ours Atu Bosenavualagi.

Could be a decent replacement for Varcoe down the track.

We're not swamped with genuine small forwards and Elliot could very well never play more than a month's worth of footy again. If he's cheap, and I assume he would be, might as well snap him up.

Different types, Elliott plays like Medhurst did, Lonie is a genuine cumber which is something we don't really have. Thomas is a makeshift crumber of sorts and we have JS but he does his best work in open space.

Lonie's a good option, would come cheap and has a lot of upside.

That indigenous talent comment is just bizarre by the way. How about we just focus on getting the best talent regardless of race?

With a cloud over Kirby and Elliot and natural attrition at least worth a thought
when we look at the 2019 list

We don’t exactly have much to trade with especially if we get May.

I’m surprised Lonnie is listed at 179cm. I thought he was smaller than that. I have him competing against Jarryd Blair more than Elliot or Kirby. He is lightening quick, much faster than Blair, but has had a few injuries at St Kilda. We could trade a fringe player for him if we really want him.

Any player who comes into the list or is on the list and performs well enough to keep, for example, Jamie Elliott or any other current senior player out of the starting side, is fine by me. There is nothing better for a team than having to perform at peak each week or lose position to someone who performs in 2's..
