I read somewhere we'd be likely to receive a 3rd round draft pick for Fas.
Given, he can't get a senior game with us anymore, that seems about the right compensation. |

Ive never quite worked out why Fas has never really made it. He’s a good mark, good kick, he’s kicked six goals in games before. I can only assume it’s his preparedness to run both ways. It’s hard to imagine that he’d not be an asset in any forward line, including ours, if his defensive game is sound. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

He's never had a good defensive game which is the reason Buckley played him in the backline for one season. The game Faz got injured from memory, he was contesting the ball in the bottom of a pack, so from that I think he was attempting to adjust his game. Incidentally when Scharenberg went down, before that incident, he ran down a Richmond player from one end of the ground to the other. And if you go back a few years Chris Dawes was playing a role in the ruck he was incapable of performing and from that moment starting going downhill. The point I'm getting to is that players are built to play certain roles in the team and they adjust their game within the limitations of what their bodies are capable of doing. The coaches on the other hand pressure their players to adapt to a style of player suited to a changing evolution of the game of football. The individual players either adapt or can't adapt. Some can't adapt, not because they don't want to adapt, but because they're restricted in what their bodies can do. I think Faz, Shaza and Dawes are in that category but I'm hoping Faz and Shaza prove me wrong. |

He's a good mark 'for his size'.
When he can gt his hands to the ball, it tends to stick but in marking contests, he is often going against taller, stronger opponents. While he can go over the top, he doesn't have Elliott level skills in this regard.
He plays forward pocket, so you'd hope that he could scout the packs and hint the ball at ground level. He does this pretty well and has the ability to wrong foot opponents and find space. But he is no Didak in this regard, let alone a Leon Davis.
Finally, he's had a bit of the yips. 2017 in particular was bad. 2016 he was great. In 2015, his stats may look good but he missed many that he shuold have got (the Hawthorn game was a case in point. ) The best small forwards make the most of their opportunities. So while Fas is no doubt a good small forward, he hasn't been able to take that next step that he has threatened so often to do.
The injuries haven't helped either. Played 100 and missed something like 85
Regardless, I hope we keep him and I hope he can get his body right and start nailing those goals again. As far as pressure acts are concerned, kicking a few goals certainly rates up there with laying a tackle |

Yes, we did. The only new rumour is that track-watchers don't seem to have seen him at training, despite seeing basically everyone else. |

I don't care about his contract.
I care if we get anything for him.
A second round pick would be paying unders. |
