Hey, I'm still upset about 1964. In an era when back pocket players stayed in the back pocket, Melbourne's back pocket kicked the winning goal.

Like everyone else, I'm nervous. I imagine the players might be nervous too. That mightn't be a bad thing. There's an old saying which is corny but true " There's nothing wrong with having butterflies in your stomach so long as they're flying in formation."

We're nervous because the emotional difference between victory and defeat is massive. I, for one am very confident that our team will give a good account and will play well. That's all we have a right to expect.

Gees I’m starting to feel young again! I got off the plane when I was 7 November 1970, so I missed that one!
