We must be going for Beams but is he worth 2 first rounders at age 29.
Would be great but rather draft a young key position player like Will Kelly with that pick or do we still get him anyway?
Can we trade a player out like Blair ( premiership star ) and future draft picks ?? _________________ Go Pies...Premiers 2010 |

Pretty sure Blair is a free agent, so he wasn’t a tradable commodity.
We could possibly trade him now that free agency is closed but it would be a pick in the hundreds just to get him to his new distinction club. Any trade won’t help us, it would really only help him ( not that we shouldn’t be helping him )
It’s funny, all these clubs with their window open now trading players in for the now.
They still only hand out one flag a year, so there are going to be a considerable number of clubs who will look back and see they got it very wrong in another three or four years time. Time will tell. |

Who on earth would want Blair? I love the bloke, but no AFL club would trade for him. |

Dees have done really well to get both May and Kolodjashnij for pick 6.
They had to give up a blue chip forward to get them though however I think Hogan was never staying in Melbourne so the deal was smart.
In the end we just did not have the currency. Picks not high enough and we were not prepared to let our own talent go even for a needs basis.
Im ok with that, the current culture at the club should be rewarded through loyalty - both ways.
Also, I think the club backs in Moore to get right and maintain a more mobile / agile backline.
Beams will help if we get him _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"

I was well in on getting May most of the season, but that was based on us being a little worse than we turned out to be and therefore the pick we could offer being higher.
Funnily enough, being a good team is probably what cost us the chance to trade for him. |

We missed out on May because he didn't insist on coming to us like Scully, Wingard et al. _________________ Get back on top. |

I never saw much in May and I get those bozos nearly every week. A fit Moore is more agile and quicker than May.At best may is a slight improvement on Dunn but at a greater cost. kolalkadasni is a fumbler and weak in a stoush and i reckon if they are smart (and that is a big if) the Suns will grab both Kings and keep them together whilst the SA boys will play out a few years and want to go home. despite the dreamons pulling their pud over this i reckon the Suns win here as they could get a 10 year player as against losing May for nothing next year and delisting the spud whose only value is in a scrabble game. The suns season was derailed by the Commonwealth games before it started last year. In 3 years time we will ask how this happened whilst teams like Sydney and Bitchmond will be wallowing down the bottom due to no depth and carlton will still be seeking crumbs from gws because SOS is an overrated idiot and Murphy, Thomas, casboult and Kreuzer will be gone. _________________ Annoying opposition supporters since 1967. |

Wow Ronrat, don't hold back! We were never in the May race, not that it was a race, because he didn't nominate us and then hold GCS to ransom like Kelly is doing. That's the only way GCS were going to accept LESS for him than Melbourne could dish up. As soon as Moore re signed, we were not in the hunt. I'd prefer Moore to May anyday, as long as he gets on the park!

Don't feel so bad on missing out on May after re-signing Langdon and Moore.
I hope Moore, Scharenberg and Dunn can get back to full fitness and remain injury free in the future. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |
