Dumb Trade all over that was |
Dumb trade ? Or dumb player decision? |
Well, indulging in a recreational/performance drug and destroying his career was definitely a dumb decision.
I guess we'll never know if the trade was dumb. For mine, he showed enough in his 13 games to suggest he might have made it as a good running defender eventually. _________________ Side by side. |

It would make sense at the very least to move Murray to the rookie list pending the ASADA outcome. |

If he gets 4 years, you have to dump him.
Not only because it's a long time, but also he betrayed trust and opportunity afforded to him.
Really dumb decision on his part. _________________ Jatsad - That is all |

If he does get 4 years, career over.
4 years is a long time, particularly when you can't play any organised sport. He can't play at suburban or bush level to keep his skills up, and 4 years is a long time to just train alone hoping like hell you can come back.
4 years, career over, dream over, move on with life and do something else.

He was high on game day ffs. No sympathy from me. Bring in a kid that deserves it more.
It's like The Club movie but for real. No wonder his decision making was terrible. |

I'd be inclined to delist Murray. The club can't afford having one player short for potentially the next four years and clogging up a list spot for someone else potentially better.
It was bad enough being two players short in 2015 and 2016 with Keeffe and Thomas suspended. Thankfully, Thomas has repaid us in spades. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023

That is precisely the point. He was not high on game day. He had trace residues which would not have enhanced his performance in any way.
4 years is a grotesquely harsh penalty for this. He is a young guy who made an incorrect decision re his partying agenda on a week night.
For mine, I am flabbergasted that so many are prepared to just throw him to the wolves like this. But yeah, the reality is, if he is unjustly thrown out for 4 years, we will have to delist him. If thrown out for only 2 years (even this is excessive), we could repeat the procedure we followed with Josh Thomas. In the end, that proved rather fruitful, did it not? _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

IIRC we were only 2 players short in 2015 as by the time the stuff broke it was part way through the season. We delisted them at the end of 2015, had a full list for 2016 and rookie listed them at the end of 2016. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Such a waste.
We gave Sydney our 2018 second round pick (currently pick 38 ) and received their 2018 third round pick (currently 51, which we recently on traded to Geelong) along with pick 70 & Murray.
It was looking a winning trade, especially when the Swans were in danger of missing the top 8. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Well if this idiot costs us Quaynor or Kelly due to lack of points, it will give us something to whinge about alright... _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

No, we rookie listed them at the end of 2015 ('2016 Rookie Draft') just after we delisted them.
Keeffe was selected at #7 and Thomas at #42. Obviously, both were ineligible to play in 2016 and couldn't train with the playing squad for the most of the year. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023

A very minor trade which will have no impact on anything. If we'd kept pick 38 it would be used to get Quaynor and Kelly. We have 51 instead and it will be used for the same. There's absolutely no reason to be upset over what we gave up for Murray. _________________ Well done boys! |

Nothing can prevent us from getting Quaynor and Kelly. Worst case, we lose next years second round pick. That is the only cost to us of getting Dayne Beams. We might lose a second round pick next year. _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |
