That is such a stupid headline from the AFL media. We had no choice re keeping Murray on the list, so it's hardly a lifeline. |

I haven't been able to find any requirement in the AFL Rules that a contracted player must be listed. I doubt it is the case. The player's protection is the contract - he gets paid (if he can perform his side). The list is between the club and the AFL - the main thing being players cannot play unless listed.

Has anyone heard whether we have nominated Will Kelly as a father son draft selection? The cut off date is today.
Also do the academy players (Isaac Quaynor) have to be nominated as well? |

I'm unclear on the rules, do we need to nominate father sons now or do we automatically get rights if we are the only club that has a claim?

| I am positive that Father son and academy players have to be nominated today. Its curious but expect articles to appear tomorrow. Its all part of how we are spoon fed information on the AFLs timetable. |

Somewhere deep in the AFL rules all players must listed on the forms lodged with the AFL for them to train etc after Oct 31st. I'll try to find the actual rule but I've seen it.

MM - that article would suggest we are having three picks in the draft which would mean two rookies elevated. Thomas and Mihocek. There is also a question if we can have two Irish lads on our Cat B rookie list. |
Josh Thomas is already on our primary list.
"The number of Players on the Club’s Category B Rookie List shall be not more than 3." CBA Rule 16 (a) (iii)
