And after reading that article from The Age;

King, Garner, Hope and Duffin have kicked more goals between them than our entire AFLW team... Embarassed

And it seems we'll be losing more players as 4 more teams will enter the comp next year. But who will we bring in? It surly cant be that hard to find talented players and to attract them to Collingwood?

North have become somewhat of a rival out of this. King and Garner are the real losses. I wonder what kind of reception they'll get when the two teams meet in a couple weeks? Maybe we can steal a player or two from them?

It's embarrassing to have lost so many players and to be winless whilst the players that have left are all doing well.

Nicola Stevens left in 2017 after being our inaugural B&F in, and although not killing it, she's still a B&F winner.

Christina Bernardi, All-Australian and the clubs leading goal scoring with a whopping 9 goals went to GWS.

Amelia Mullane walked to Carlton with Harford as coach.

And of course the 4 who departed for North. (Hope, King, Garner and Duffin).

I'm sure there's others, but i think Chiocci, Parker and Molloy are the players that we really cannot afford to lose. With Grant and Brazill after that.

I'm not sure how the Sharni Layton thing is working out, but there has to be other athletic women we can get to the club.

Seriously though, Siekman does have a good resume, but he's failing with this AFLW team.

What is his resume? And how does it compare with the other AFLW coaches'?

Quarter time and we're scoreless.

How can Carlton be sitting on 11 and it feels like its over already?

Previous experience:

Dandenong Stingrays U18 (Senior Assistant Coach 2014-16, Assistant Coach 2011-2014, Development Coach 2006-2010);

Coach Victoria Metro Youth Girls (2014-2016);

Assistant Coach Victoria Country U18 2015-2016;

Head Coach Sandringham Youth Girls Academy 2014;

Assistant Coach Victoria Country Futures U17 2013-2014;

Assistant Coach Victoria Metro Youth Girls 2013;

Collingwood Football Club VFL Assistant Development Coach 2008;

Head Coach Chelsea Football Club U18s 2004-2005;

Collingwood AFLW Head Coach 2016-Current

Quote:
The story so far: Thirty-three-year-old Siekman has been involved with the Dandenong Southern Stingrays in the TAC Cup Under 18 competition since 2006.

During his decade at the club, he saw many players progress to AFL ranks and held roles such as Senior Assistant, midfield coach, backline coach and forward line coach. Siekman began his coaching career at the age of 17 with Edithvale Aspendale after injuries prevented him from playing the game. In 2008, he obtained a position at Collingwood’s newly reestablished VFL side as an assistant development coach.

He worked closely with Gavin Brown and Alan Richardson, today crediting the pair with helping his development as a coach. Siekman has been the Head Coach of the Victoria Metro Youth Girls side since 2014 and has won two National Championships with his side in three years.

Lynden Dunn is an assistant, I've seen Tarkyn Lockyer helping out at AFLW training and I just saw Nick Maxwell talking to some of the players during the quarter time break. So there's quality AFL people around the team.

I'm not sure of all the other coached resumes, but I'd like to have someone that's played or been involved with an AFL club in control.

For 33 years of age tho, Siekman looks terrible.

"For 33 years of age"? You mean he looks old?

I'd like to know who this player was. What was said. And who backed her on what she had to say.

Well, he's 36 now, but that's still not late 40s.

It's about time, they sacked the guy coaching them.

He couldn't even get them up in the last qtr after leading by 10 pts at 3/4 time.

Absolute spud!

He has got to go.

This is eroding the recently-fragile fabric of the football club.

He is a development coach. Most of the squad lack basic foot skills. Can't pass to save themselves. Sacking the coach won't fix the issue of lack of skills. Recruiting needs to be addressed first.

' "All I'm worried about is what's happening inside our club," said Siekman of external critique.

"It doesn't look that great when you see 0-5, but when you see the progression [in the young list], that's all I can ask for from this group." '

Gut feeling is that he'll be sacked.

At least this will be more enjoyable than the sack Buckley threads.
