Ha Ha, I don't think they will sack him. You can't pull up your socks when you don't have any on.

Heard on SEN this week that Collingwood is missing 8 out of their 10 Best and Fairest players.
No wonder they can't win and struggle to score.
I heard on the grapevine that their recruiting staff stuffed up their ;ist.

I swear I am going to streak the next time one of them kicks it sideways.

Is it time, P35?

Some might think it's a 3 legged race?

I went to the Kingsbury market this morning, Sunday Trash and Treasure market on latrobe uni grounds, on Kingsbury drive near Plenty Rd.

I park on the south side of the road where they've been doing a lot of work building a new sporting complex on the Uni grounds, and this morning there was a womans footy match going, So I walked up and watched for a few minutes.

All young women, I couldn't tell if it was an under 19s team or just all uni students, but they were all young and having a fair crack.

The first thing I noticed was exactly the same thing I notice when I've watched AFLW, the serious intent and the lack of skill.

The only way these girls seemed to be able to get possession was to tackle, and there was plenty of that.

With a very small number of notable exceptions, the skills were bad. Players couldn't pick up a lose ball, so there'd be tackles . If someone got the ball, they'd try to run and run themselves into trouble with short badly aimed handpasses to a target that, if they actually caught it, were immediately under pressure.

The solution that came to me was to take the tackle out of junior girls footy and focus on skills. Get them to learn how to mark, kick and handpass, then introduce the tackle at an age when they have a couple of years of skills training behind them.

There's probably an unintended consequence to that idea, but something needs to happen to improve the basic skill level.
