The rest of the team should be picked around this core :

FB:

HB:

C: Steele Sidebottom - Taylor Adams - Adam Treloar

HF:

FF:

Foll: Brodie Grundy - Jordan DeGoey - Dayne Beams

De Goey will be full forward...or thereabouts.

Pendles will be in the centre. Cool

I think DeGoey is what actually ( seriously ) makes this the greatest midfield ever put together.

I cant easily forget how good he was against Melb and in the Granny. For me, this makes us better.

And JDG in midfield, gives Elliot or Daicos a look

IMO, Pendlebury should be preserved on a HB flank, and does not offer more than Taylor or DeGoey or Beams. Who all have serious engines.

Our second tier also looks quite strong

C: Tom Phillips - Scott Pendlebury - Chris Mayne

Foll: Jordan Roughead - Brayden Sier - Callum Brown

( I choose Callum Brown over Greenwood based on his VFL finals performance against Essendon. 30 touches, 3 goals, 10 tackles )

Maybe in round 1 Pendles will retain his primary midfield spot, but young Taylor ( perhaps our best performer on GF day ) is hunting that spot down, relentlessly .

And at some point this upcoming season, the Coach, the Players and the Supporters will all agree that Taylor Adams is the Leader of this unit, and the way forward.

Were coming full circle guys, this year, The Reids, The Goldsacks and maybe even the Pendleburys will all be overtaken at one point or another. Just like in 2010, as it happened to O'bree, Frasier and to a certain extent Prestigiacomo.

There are so many things reminding me of 2010.

Acquiring a Ruck/Rover combo to strengthen Midfield in Roughead and Beams. Very similar to when Malthouse acquired Jolly and Ball.

The soon to be emergence of a dashing, evasive, Half Back in the mold of Harry O'Brian. Issac Quaynor, Tick.

Just to name a couple...

Take it easy there mate.

Lets not forget, the double trip to Western Australia. Freo last round / WC qualifing final. The extra 100 minutes we played against The Giants. We simply ran out of fuel.

I wont be speaking about the past anymore.

We are now on the Eve of something Special, Mark my words...

However, I agree with your statement 5

And if you notice, The second-tier i posted above. That Centreline of Phillips Pendles Mayne was our primary 3 in the GF. A lot different to what i invision our best line-up to be.

No, but Tay might be the back half general, JDG forward, next to Cox (rude Cool ) ... and Beams? he'll probably be coming off the bench by round 4 I reckon.
