Lol, thanks Skids

You may be right...

However I feel DeGoey is more potent hunting the ball and with the hopeful return of Elliot and projected rise of Daicos that would be welcome, Tay does not have the skills required to play from HB and if we are putting him in their merely to shut down an opposition player then i believe that is a waste of his talents. Someone like Greenwood would be more suited. IMO, Tay should be hunting and driving us forward from stoppages. Along with DeGoey and Beamer. Clearly Taylor Adams was Collingwoods best player on the big stage. Although at times, DeGoey looked liked the competitions best player ( You just dont see Tom Mitchell do what DeGoey can do. ) The statement has been made...

Pendles was not 100% at any time last year IMO, i hope he gets back to it, but if he doesnt his 2nd best is still as good or better than others very best. He has an amazing football brain, and he lives and breathes it, he aint done yet.

i bagged pendles as captain for a long long time, but not the last 18 months or so. I love Adams, but Pendles deserves more time. Taylors time will come. and i reckon Scott will hand it to him. cheers, Go Pies!

Pendlebury is perhaps the best decision maker in the AFL with ball in hand.

When your talking about pure Skill, There is a level that only Steele Sidebottom dwells in.

With Treloar back to 100% and Sidey in career best form, Pendlebury is not needed on the outside as much. Hence, his slight change into a more ball winning contested player last year. Would you agree that is not the correct way to be using Pendlebury? And that Taylor Adams is that type of player naturally?

Pendlebury's primary weapon is his decision making. The Half-Back role has become IMO the most important place to have your ' Quaterback general ' pulling the strings...

Im interested to see if Pendlebury finds himself on HB sometime this year, and to see how effective he can be for us in this type of role. We have a tough defence, if its missing one thing it would be silky skills and at time composure...

As you mentioned, Pendlebury's second best is not as good as anyone else's very best. In particular, Taylor Steele Treloar DeGoey or Beams. That comment is so very wrong. And the rise of Collingwood over the last 18 months has more to do with Grundy than it does Pendlebury...

In Fact, the case can be made that our midfield is actually better without Pendlebury at his full capacity. Pendlebury has become quite slow and was never the quickest player on the list. And in today's game, you can be exposed for that a lot more in the middle, than in defense.

I can't see our midfield without Sier... nobody has mentioned this weapon? And the machine... Phillip's??? ... puhleeze... wake up!

Daicos is going to be in the mix and I wouldn't write off Wells having an impact through the middle either.

It's going to be a very exciting season people, very exciting, this year A
AND beyond! Cool

id agree that pendles would be a massive asset at HB, just as Maxy was, ive always believed that defence is where the war needs to start to be won. no matter the sport.

hopefully pendles can get back to full fitness, even with a couple of extra years on his fellow players he will still give 90% of them a run for their money.

i also agree with the Grundy comment, but you have to Add Cox and a couple of others into the equation.

maybe from my comments you can tell im not into individualising players in team sport, a champion team rather than a team of champions for me!

Any Objections ?

I'ts a question of making full use of all our Star Midfielders.
Taylor Adams was certainly our best player in the all the Finals! ( his pressure around stoppages was unreal, if you get into his sights your gone no matter where you are! Some of those Tigers just didn't know what hit em! Rotating them is the secret to it all

bench: Sier, Phillips , Greenwood ( we need a hard tough player)

C: Steele Sidebottom - Pendles - Adam Treloar

HF: Jordan DeGoey - Cox - Jordan DeGoey Very Happy

FF:

Foll: Brodie Grundy - Taylor Adams - Dayne Beams

( Daics, Brown, Rupe) all to get a run during the year!

Int: Brayden Sier, Josh Daicos

If we can get all these player on the park at once which has never been our strong point, i would be expecting DeGoey, Beams and Sier to all be alternating in and out of the half and full forward lines as they are all very capable and hard match ups. From what i have seen from training i would expect to see Daicos feature on a wing. Pendle's is still our best option by a mile around the stoppage with a bit of space. wouldnt be suprised if Sier can keep Beams on the fringe of our best midfield because he really does make a huge impact and has worked really hard to develop his tank.

The midfield discussion is very interesting altho I suggest there are other facets to our growth in 2019

A bag of rich’s In midfield has been ramped up but so to has our defence slash rucks slash forwards with the acquisition of Jordan Roughead

He will when in defence add that big body with extensive experience

As a back up for Brody he lighten’s his load and puts Grundy into a follower role

This will affect the forwards by releasing Cox to spend more time as a tall marking option close to the big sticks

On the 2010 comparison Roughy and Beamsy are enormous tools to grab a flag——add the improvement of Stevo and an almost certain gun in Quaynor
being a Collingwood supporter just ramped up with so many positive’s

Treloar yes!!!

The midfield rotation will be intricate I imagine but like the old school of resting rucks and rovers in forward pocket’s a modern version of midfield all proven goal kicker’s

Rotations in forward line —having a Taylor / Beams combo or a Pendlebury / De Goey combo

The Dees pracy match plus JLT will be proving ground for some of this deal
as will be the new kick in to advantage rule—trialling Darcy and another player who I can’t think of at this point

True that BazBoy. Our team is so deep that the hardest thing is going to be picking the bench.

I could argue that Adam Treloar is our best player.

It could be Tay and Adam or Sier and Adam

Point is the harmony we are experiencing players will work with each other

Adam is excellent tho my not necessarily best but most important player Grundy would be my choice

Heck we have a lot of natural “leaders” now
