Scott Pendlebury vs Taylor Adams ( Centre Position )

Kicking : Advantage Pendlebury
Decision Making : Advantage Pendlebury
Handpassing : Even
Tackling : Advantage Adams
Clearences : Advantage Adams
Endurance : Advantage Adams
Speed : Advantage Adams
Strength : Advantage Adams
Tagging : Advantage Adams
Marking : Pendlebury ( slight )

In and Under : Advantage Adams
Outside work : Advantage Pendlebury

Yes the two players do complement eachother well and there is no reason why they both wont be in the starting 18 come Rd1, Or on the ground in the last 5 minutes of this years Granny.

I may be a bit biased on the topic, as I really want to see what the Deadly Triangle of DeGoey, Adams and Beamer can produce. I cant imagine us loosing clearences to anyone if we set up that way. Especially with Grundy feeding them...

Grundy JDG Tay and Beams, its like swinging around 4 wrecking balls.

With the 6-6-6 in place. The highest percentage of scoring might be straight from Centre Clearences. Most teams highest method of scoring over the last several years has been from turnovers. Id imagine that will stay the same, although the teams with strong clearence midfields may result otherwise. For instance, Buckley would be impressed with scoring 10goals from turnovers on any day. Now, his emphasis may be scoring 10 goals from
centre clearences.

Feel our biggest asset is the solidarity

If we can get all these player on the park at once which has never been our strong point, i would be expecting DeGoey, Beams and Sier to all be alternating in and out of the half and full forward lines as they are all very capable and hard match ups. From what i have seen from training i would expect to see Daicos feature on a wing. Pendle's is still our best option by a mile around the stoppage with a bit of space. wouldnt be suprised if Sier can keep Beams on the fringe of our best midfield because he really does make a huge impact and has worked really hard to develop his tank.

So is Adam Treloar chopped liver all of a sudden??????

It sure is really impressive on paper. Just very thankful that I don't have the task of trying to fit them all in and work out positions and match systems:)
If they are all remain injury-free (unlikely?), it's amazing to think what Bucks has to work with, compared to a couple of seasons ago.

What he has to work with I believe started last year and with some new additions he will with his coaches build a good side —at least as good as last year is the level we must better

Factors like injuries and form will have impact and if we are as staunch as last year another finals and maybe another crack at a flag

There will be blimps (there was last yr) so bring it on

Mark my Words, This team will be like Collingwood 2010-11 on Steroids.

One important thing about picking the bench will be selecting Jordan Roughead. With Roughead on the bench we have cover for 3 positions. Full-Back, Ruck and Full-Forward. He is the only player on our list that can play those 3 positions. So having him on the bench to cover multiplue roles will allow us to Select 3 Midfielders with him.

And at this point, if the Footy Gods continue to smile down on us, it could very well be a bench of :

Roughead - Pendlebury - Wells - ?

With Mayne Sier Daicos Phillips Brown all competing for the last spot. Which is a testament to our supreme depth.

FB: Maynard - Moore - Langdon
HB : Quaynor - Howe - Crisp
C : Steele - Taylor - Treloar
HF : Thomas - Mihocek - Hoskin
FF : Stephenson - Mason - Elliot
Foll : Grundy - DeGoey - Beams

Int : Roughead - Pendlebury - Wells - Daicos

Note : This is my projected line-up for us by Round 11. The bench is deadly, the team is strong and balanced. Also, with this midfield, Very rarely will our defense be put under the pump from centre-clearences. Which would allow us to play Howe as an intercepting HB. I predict Collingwood to have some of the best Clearence stats ( Centre-Bounce or around the ground ) that have ever been recorded...

Darcy Moore can also play full back, full forward and ruck....just saying.

I'd also have Phillips and especially Sier ahead of Wells and Daicos.

Your right about Moore Rude.

Sier has his whole career ahead of him. Wells has 1 season left. Wells owes Collingwood at least 1 good year. The $1million plus he is taking from us wont seem as bad if he helps deliver a Flag. I have high hopes for Wells this year.

I also have high hopes for Daicos. Need i say more. However, if its not Daics then i'd like to select Chris Mayne ahead of Phillips. Mayne offers more and should be ahead of Daicos. (Im just a little biased.)

There is no need for Phillips when our midfield is in full force. However, There is always a need for someone like Chris Mayne.

No need for Phillips? I can't see him not being in the team.

With the likely re-emergence of the traditional wingman as a result of the 6-6-6 rule, my view is that there will be every need for him. He is the team's best endurance runner and will be playing in a position that will be even more demanding than it was last year.

For me, Steele Sidebottom is a Supreme version of Phillips. Phillips is another, like Sier, who has a long career ahead of him. And will need patience.

When Steele was mainly playing in the middle, there was room for Phillips. But we have found out that Steele can be tagged in the middle, wheras its more difficult to control him from the wing. So for me, Sidebottoms best position is on the wing where he has more space to use his potency.

Phillips may have quite the engine, but in close second is infact Steele himself.

What concerns me more about Phillips however is a few things.

1. His composure at times, when helping defense.
2. His strength in the contest. Sidebottom and Daicos both use the body better.
3. He is not two-footed.
4. He needs to improve his tackling ability.
5. He does not have strong marking ability.

When you have attacking Wingmen like Steele Sidebottom, Adam Treloar and a Daicos emerging ( directly competing with Phillips ) his spot does not seem as secure as you would think.

Then you have Chris Mayne. Who offers a complete different Skillset to us than the 4 players mentioned above. Defensive workrate, pressure, tackling, strength and most importantly, Strong Marking ability. If i was to go by Chris Mayne's last couple months of footy ( Especially his GF performance ) then he would be ahead of both Phillips and Daicos. And perhaps starts in the 18 as our only defensive wingman for team balance.

Hmmm,
The problem as I see it, is that we have 26 blokes in our best 22.
But then given our last EIGHT years (& our last 3 weeks), injuries will once again play a big part in our season.
However, if that somehow DIDNT happen (pretty near impossible given that its already started), and given our list & solidarity, I don't see how we manage to lose a game.
Not one.

In fact, I'd like to see this side referred to, as the wins pile up, as the
"New Machine"
