personally I hated them they always seamed to be up themselves smug and ever so artificial whats everyones most hated team in an era my next hated were again the hawthorn of the 2013-2015 era Brisbane lions of the 2002-2003 and of course just recently Richmond of 2017 and west coast of 2018 just recently

i keep saying it collingwood should have realistically 17 flags by now one from the brisbane lions gf's and last year

this year its make or break Collingwood must thats MUST win the flag this year win it or pack up and go home
Collingwood need to permantly shut up the teams of the likes of eg richmond west coast etc....

I always wondered how hawthorn could keep those teams together. Interesting that Don Scott said something recently about Hawthorn breaching the cap in those days (80's and 90's) by having a bank account in Tasmania that payments came from. That would be a strange thing to joke about but he is known to say some strange things.

When was the cap first introduced? I cannot remember.

Those were different days, of course. Hawk players earning a living as PE teachers, etc.

I know how they got those teams together. All clubs were supposed to have a metro zone and country zone. They got the eastern suburbs private school zone and lucked into having the Mornington Peninsula zone which was really another metro zone. When it came to them and the 'lucky'clubs who got Bendigo and the outer east of Melbourne they were not prepared to rotate them in the original spirit of the zoning system. Meanwhile we got stuck with the Hampden and far south west where half the players were from Mount Gambier and were locked into the SANFL. We lucked out.

My brother in law had them too.

He used a cream on them then had an operation which meant he had to sit on a donut cushion for a couple of weeks.

Hope you get over them soon.

Hawthorn bought a sports store next to my parents TAB in Mooroolbark and it was half owned by Peter Crimmins and Ian Bremner. The Hawks knew Crimmins was dying and the plan was that Ian would run it and the Crimmins boys would have an income. Peters wife sold it at the first opportunity and blew the money. Peter Knights was a cigarette salesman and Ian and all other players with similar businesses were told to sell smokes. Ian was not happy as he said Crimmo dies of cancer and you want me to sell smokes. The "family" club told him to do what he was told. Ian moved to Tasmania to coach and sold his share to his brother who later sold it to his partners and they told Knights to piss off.

Caused by watching the GF? That's unusual.
