At 3/86 (23), Neesham comes on.
Athers finds it interesting Williamson hasn't yet introduced Santner. I. Smith thinks it's because of the two LHers.
A catch! Will they give it? Ferguson claims it.
They review, but the soft signal is out. That is key, Smith says.
Yes, yes, yes. Easily out! Brilliant from Ferguson.
Flat-track bully Morgan goes. 9 (22).
England 4/86 (23.1). Buttler in.
I repeat: if these are CdG/Neesham conditions, and surely they are, then NZ have a full five bowlers as genuine wicket-takers.
cricinfo's forecast drops from 62% to 50%.
The broadcast predictor says NZ 49%, England 51%.
Odds: England 40%, NZ 60%.
..........................................
And Neesham ends the over by cutting Stokes in half.
Five bowlers, I say! |

CdG continues.
Clarke wanted Williamson to go for the kill and bring back his fast bowler.
Root is playing pensively with his chin.
These two have dangerous hitting powers, but just one more wicket now would get NZ into the tail.
In the 25th over, the broadcast predictor says NZ 51%, England 49%. |

Neesham continues. They appeal for run out. They are checking. There's no great excitement.
Safe, but he placed his bat in rather than sliding it in.
Clarke: "Keep going to your wicket-taking option."
RRR has crept to 6, Athers tells us. I. Smith says that won't worry Stokes and Buttler, but it might worry those further down.
Clarke and Smith rib Athers about his Cambridge education. |

The scoring worms are close, but England's is slightly below.
More tight bowling from CdG.
Athers on Ferguson: "It was a wonderful moment when he gave it out. He knew."
Groans go up in the commentary box. Did that take an edge? Tom Latham is up to the stumps, and he couldn't take it. |

Stokes skips down the pitch and smashes Neesham for 4 straight to bring up the England 100.
Should Latham stand up to the stumps for Neesham too? Stokes is skipping down every ball. What is the speed of Neesham compared with CdG?
Stokes signals to the dressing room. |

CdG is being bowled out.
Over the wicket to Buttler. Around the wicket to Stokes.
It looks like they will just work singles and play him out.
Byes conceded as the ball nips back off the pitch.
Buttler skies but it doesn't carry.
CdG finishes with 1/25 (10).
England 4/111 (29).
Odds: England 43%, NZ 57%. |

Boult is back to bowl the 30th over.
Bishop asks whether it'll be Santner or Ferguson next over. He thinks wind direction might influence it too. I. Smith thinks Santner should be tried.
England 4/115 (30).
------------------------------------------
It's Santner.
Stokes plays and misses wide of off.
------------------------------------------
In the 32nd over, Buttler slashes Boult in the air just out of Guptill's reach for 4.
------------------------------------------
Santer bowls another tight over. |

The broadcast predictor says NZ 44%, England 56%.
Runs are beginning to flow. NZ need a wicket soon.
50-run partnership from 65 balls.
England are just four behind where NZ were at the same stage, Bishop tells us.
England 4/137 (34). Drinks.
M. Taylor: "The game is right in the balance."
Healy: "I think they need to get rid of both of them." |

The broadast predictor says NZ 38%, England 62%.
The money has shifted back to England.
Odds: England 57%, NZ 43%.
...........................................
Shout for LBW. Dharmasena says not out. They review!
Looks down leg.
No edge.
Yep. Not out. And they lose the review.
And they check for run out next ball, but Buttler is home. He was sent back by Stokes.
4/143 (36).
The target is under 100.
RRR is just under 7. |

Stokes inside edges past the stumps.
Buttler chips the ball but short of the fielder.
Then Buttler hits straight for 4.
NZ need a wicket.
------------------------------------
And next over, Stokes "muscles" Ferguson's short ball without timing for 4.
England 4/162 (39).
Odds: England 62%, NZ 38%. |

Henry to bowl out, with the 40th over.
Ganguly: "It's too easy at the moment."
Buttler steps across and ramps the last ball for 4.
England 4/170 (40).
-----------------------
It's getting desperate for NZ now. |

In the 42nd over, the broadcast predictor says NZ 31%, England 69%.
Neesham bowls a good yorker. Stokes just gets bat to it and slips over to the pitch.
Good bowling from Neesham.
Where is the wicket coming from? |

Buttler reaches 50.
The partnership then reaches 100.
Stokes reaches 50.
NZ are in deep trouble.

But Buttler holes out to sub Southee in the deep. 59 (60).
There's still some hope!
England 5/196 (44.5). Woakes in.
A potentially match-winning knock from Buttler. But NZ have an opening now.
Healy says Woakes is very good at this too...
M. Taylor & Healy agree Woakes should just feed the strike to Stoke.
Odds: England 43%, NZ 57%. |

Neesham is bowling the 46th over.
...
He goes around the wicket for Stokes.
I. Smith: "Stokes knows it's on him."
Nasser thinks Woakes has to take the long handle and tell Stokes to stay till the end.
The broadcast predictor has swung to NZ 62%, England 38%.
But Stokes hits the last ball for 4!
England 5/203 (46). |
