do we have a weakness? and if we do what might it be?

The purpose of this is to see if we can agree on what is Collingwood's biggest area of concern. And bring that Darkness to Light.

Our No.1 Weakness

Get your Magnifying Glasses out! What could sink this ship? Is it inpenetrable? Or do we have a Submarine Battleship?

Last year our main problem was our poor rate (13th in fact) of centre clearances. Hopefully we can significantly improve in this area of the game, which is even more important with the new 666 rule.

No, we have 2 new recruits. And a couple returning from injury.

Hmmm ill agree with this, Good point Rudeboy. We can make this our no.1 concern ( for the moment ) unless someone can pin point an area of greater or similar concern.

No.1 Weakness : Centre Clearences

Surely though Dayne Beams can shine a bit of light on the Centre Clearence issue. Does Dayne Beams significantly make us better in this area? Enough for another area of concern to de-throne our centre clearence weakness as our No.1 concern. Is Beamer the answer or only part of the soloution?

I think our biggest issue - if we have one - will be tall forwards. Not in the forward line really, but clearing the ball from the back half. We saw Cox dominate in the prelim and take mark after mark on the wing / back flank and the really destroyed Richmond. No one was able to do the same against West Coast and we stagnated after quarter time and lost as a result. Miochek is not that player, so it has to be Cox, or Grundy, or no one.

IF Moore stays fit he give us another option, but the jury, IMO, is still out on our tall forwards. Hopefully Cox takes yet another step towards Paul Salmon esk and makes this a non issue.

Sier and Beams will cure our centre clearance woes Smile

Hmm Very interesting. Im going to have to agree with this, for now. A fitter Sier and the addition of Beams should take care of this area. DeGoey unlocks it when needed. Big Marking options will have to dethrone that concern for now as it was a big issue in the Grand Final.

Cox? Grundy? Who else could realistically help when we need a Go-To Man in a crowd of players? Who else could realistically stand out an be a presence?

No.1 Concern : Get out of Danger option

Also I think our centre clearances will be improved as a result of the rule changes,
In my view, our greatest weakness is our accumulation of injuries. I hope that this will change, because if it does, I can;t see much stopping us.

Agree that it could be a major concern as it has been the last 6-7 years. Its not something that can be adjusted tactically. So fingers crossed.

However our depth is also better than it has been for as long as i can recall, proof last year...

Collingwood's No.1 Concern : Get out of Danger option !!

Previous Concern : Centre Clearences

Or Can Cox take that next step, or can anyone realistically help Cox and Grundy in this area? It killed us in the Granny!!
