We have to fix out kicking in. We are unable to get it out of D50 and its frustrating to watch.

our weakness

- centre clearances
- our backline has zero depth. Lose a player, and we're fooked.

First, we lack depth in the ruck and key back posts.

Second, the WCE for one bats deeper for class off half back and through the middle, with class being defined as disposal and ball-handling skills. This tells in big games under pressure.

Third, and overlapping with this, we have half a dozen players whose skills aren't quite up to standard. This again tells in big games under pressure.

Assuming we can keep the wins up, the challenge for us is to minimise these weaknesses before the pointy end. However, we have to play around with selection to do this, but that in turn risks being too cute and losing momentum over the course of the season.

Yeah, that's a bizarre statement. We have quite a few defensive options.

We've lost all of Moore, Dunne, Scharenberg, Aish, Langdon at times this year and have still allowed the 2nd least points in the comp.

While I can understand us being acknowledged as one of the better teams in the competition I kind of feel Hudson and Russell have purposely started to sell a narrative of us being the team to beat for the premiership these last two weeks and it's been done in a disingenuous manner.

Why would they do this?

Well the old adage of the bigger they are the harder they fall comes to mind and they can sell that during the season and celebrate any defeat of ours as one for the underdogs. Makes great television for all the Collingwood haters which includes both of them.

The end game is the hope that if they repeat it enough that people will start to believe this is actually the internal view of the club and perpetrate the belief that we as a supporter group are full of hubris.

Hudson in particular is the most biased piece of s**t when it comes to Collingwood and would love nothing more than to build us up with faint praise only to see us fall. You could hear it in his voice last week just how shattered he was that Carlton didn't cause the upset.

Personally and despite being biased towards Collingwood I would have Geelong ahead of us after 9 rounds as they've been the more consistent team within games while until we actually find a way to beat this current West Coast squad we remain behind them also.

Interesting that both have an infinity for the side currently sitting a game clear on top of the ladder and yet it's us who are supposedly the clear standouts.

Pull the other way.

The players can't hear that wing nutted head of Hudson and neither can the crowd.

The hope is that some how come the finals the WCE and Cats get each other in a elimination game. Or even an early qualifier and hope someone like GWS does a Melbourne ala 1990 and knocks the other one out. And Brisbane keeps winning and we cop them at the MCG. Richmond for example is another side that could cause trouble for either of them.

This year our second quarters are poor. Compared to the 2010 and 2011 teams we don't win as many quarters in a dominant fashion. We win 1 or 2 quarters well, break even in another and lose another.

Geelong's efficiency up forward is better than ours presently. Kardinia Park form can be a bit misleading though as we we see many years.

West Coast have won 6 without setting the world on fire and have very few injuries. We must finish in the top 2 to avoid a trip to Perth in September.

I don't think we should be flag favorites. We haven't had the consistency or form momentum yet to deserve it and we are still to prove we can beat the West Coast midfield and intercept marking. I am optimistic that efficiency up forward can improve once we have a another 10 games with the forward line playing together with all the guns. Beams hopefully will find his place in our midfield soon and improve our centre clearance rate.
