EPILOGUE:

No sooner put the cue in the rack for 2019 than Buckley pops up on Whateley's show one more time (and perhaps more to follow before year's end).

Haven't heard it all yet, but picked up a few quick snippets

- he talks about the first day of Pies' pre-season training

- how he watched the GF on TV at home (Note: earlier he had said that he wouldn't be watching because of the pain of the PF loss)

- getting into the philosophy yabba talking about "light and shade" in post-season holiday recovery

- his visit to sports events in the US - review of World Cup rugby finals

- updates Grundy's contract status; when asked directly Buckley avoids confirmation of the story last week that Grundy will sign a 7-year tenure; but says a new contract is on the table

- talks about keeping the band together, "There is no one person who is a necessity to keep"

- mocks Dayne Beams’ “reading list” at training

- coaching staff numbers, “more is not better”

- and more...

Not Whateley, not 2019, but it is Buckley & Damien Barrett:

Buckley tries to walk back his honest statement after the PF that the season was a "waste". (He already tried to walk it back at the Copeland by talking about movies, Brad Pitt, etc.)

^ He may or may not be head coach when we win our next premiership, but in my eyes, he's a man with a helluva lot of substance.
