Who else has opened The Age website today, saw the face of Grundy staring at them and gone into a blind panic prior to scrolling down?

Thank God is all I can say.

No doubt we've had some truly great players since Buckley like Pendlebury or Swan while others like A. Rocca or Cloke played important key position roles during our September appearances within this time period but heading into this season I've come to the conclusion that none have been as singularly important to our Premiership hopes year on year like Buckley was until now with Grundy.

A big call perhaps given he'll have some highly talented players supporting him in 2019 but he is the one piece of the puzzle that can't be replaced this season IMO.

P.S- de Goey might well be number 2 on the list of most important now.

No doubt remains now IMO and Grundy suddenly has a challenger for the title.

Thank God we allowed him time to mature (fingers crossed).

Thank Christ he knocked back the North Melbourne offer.

With Grundy and de Goey coming out of contract at the end of 2020 I hope Ned Guy has it covered.

Grundy lowered his colours in my view last week against Geelong but did well this week against Nankervis.

I actually thought Grundy was okay last week, but Stanley just happened to play a very good game himself.

This week, Grundy was back to his best.

That's what we are all hoping for; we are unlikely to be able to assemble a better list, than the one we have at present, for a long, long time...

He actually dominated the game against Geelong but, like on many other occasions, our midfield squandered the arm-chair ride he gave them. 34 hitouts, 14 contested possessions, 7 clearances (more than any other Collingwood player) and 18 disposals - our last premiership ruckman played throughout the entire 2010 season without seeing that much of the ball on a single occasion.

Well, he'd probably need to get lost at Marvel Stadium wearing a Superman costume while the game is going on at the G for you to concede that he had anything other than a great game.
