BS, TP. I thought you wanted an analysis. you are simply ranting irrationally. To go forward from this, we need to analyse objectively where we were not up to standard and therefore what we need to do to improve our performance next week. I am totally done with vituperation against umpires. Next week, who knows? They might favour us. Such is the nature of randomness.

How would an objective analysis here help improve the team's performance?

Quite simply, we’re West Coast’s bitches. We should have gone out tonight firing to avenge the GF narrow loss. Instead, we looked timid in the stoppages and our midfield was SMASHED. It also doesn’t help to miss easy chances.

The same was said about Essendon in the 90s and Richmond as lately as last year. It's not a permanent thing.

We're not too far off, just straighten up those kicks for goal and eliminate half of our turnovers, and we're there.

We're not as direct as last yr n over using the footy, the zone defence doesn't work against some sides , they just pick through it n WC are the best at that, once we turn the ball over against WC imop it should be man on man

Outplayed by a better side tho we cannot afford to do a “Hawthorn “ where a side continually beats us

As bad as I’ve seen them play but to be blunt Eagles would not let us get into the game

Reset and go again—-still over 4 months to pointy end of season

Why do we always get fast starts against that mob at the G?

In the end we were rattled, lacked leg speed, composure and structure. As the game progressed we made more and more mistakes and judgement errors.

The umpires certainly did not help us when we were not rewarded for our effort and pressure and some glaring holding the ball decisions resulted in play ons. This sapped our energy and changed the momentum of the game. What else would you expect from the umpires and the AFL? Some of the frees against were very soft and the umpires rewarded a number of WC dives with frees.

Move on to the next round and start working on a plan to counter WC for our next encounter.Disappointing but it is what it is.

Don’t know how it happens—a side having the “mokka “ on another side

We aren’t the only side —-you hear “Sydney hasn’t beat so and so for 5 yrs”
just as an example

Haven’t looked at our fixture so do we play them again???

I'm not so sure that we are lacking a big bodied midfielder. What we lack most of all imo, is genuine leg speed around the packs, particularly at centre bounces. Adams seemed to be our only midfielder capable of attacking the ball at speed and running forward with it. We don't get this from Pendles, Greenwood or Beams. As much as I like him, we should be getting better service in the centre from Treloar. I'm not sure we have anyone else in the VFL capable of providing genuine midfield speed. The only one I can think of is Varcoe. I'm not sure how he went in the VFL, but if he comes back, maybe we need to use him in bursts at centre bounces. Sadly, I don't rate either of the Brown boys or Daicos as being good enough.

I agree that what we need most is speed, and like you i am unsure where we will find it. Time and time again yesterday the ball was 50/50 at the centre bounce, only to be whisked away by superfast WC mids for whom we had no answer.
