So it appears at this stage, Labor cannot form a majority government,

Well it won't impact me remotely- but don't don't whinge to me when your childcare , your schools, your healthcare, your hospitals don't deliver what you want or expect or when you have no water or your community is devasted by land clearing and fire and flood - you made your choice so live with it!

My cousin is very very Labor. she asked me if she could watch the election at my place up in Toc instead of annoying her mother. I said yes on the condition that she didn't break anything if Labor lost.

She messaged me a few minutes ago to apologise for multiple holes in the walls, I replied by telling her there's plaster patching compound and trowels in the kitchen. Wink

It's not that labor seem to have lost for me - yes I would always vote for them in the lower house because my beliefs are aligned and don't think an independent vote is a vote well cast - that obviously depends but I will always vote for the party in the Senate that represent my hope my ideals. I am hopeful that the results of the Senate voting will enable Live Export to be abolished - I really really want this to happen!

People seem to me to be so entitled and want everything - we are lucky I suppose not much impacts us - but we vote as if it might.

But you know what no more - suck it up - you voted for it you deal with it! Except for animals who have no bloody say - for all of them - we fight on!!

Hey Ronrat maybe we will retire to Thailand - your shout first up!

Serously, because of idiotic changes made by DFAT at the Embassy I may have to eave and live with the folks about an hour from Hervey Bay. When you have a Labor state Government saying the waiting lists for hospital are months when in fact it is closer to 2 years well what are retirees going to do North of Brisbane. I will find out next week or so.

Did Hollow Man Shorten lose?

All that time spent propping up a space filler was as expected time wasted.

Morrison is relatively moderate anyhow, isn't he?

I suppose, in that he’s marginally to the left of Genghis Khan, which counts as moderate in the Liberal Party these days.

I have no issues with Bill Shorten biting the dust, but do worry about what this means for future Labor election campaigns. They took a relatively economically progressive platform to the polls this time; what’s the chance that that’ll be what they pin the blame on for the loss? The worst thing is that they might be right. You don’t win elections here if you’re not appealing to selfish and fearful motives.

Yes. Abbott gone. Franus gone. Pity about Dutton - but Queensland is the only place in the country where you can send Tasmanians and raise the average IQ of 2 States.
