You beg and beg to get a public holiday game. You cry foul and preach for equality for the smaller clubs.
You promise big crowds, but then have to ask to play a big club in Essendon to get them through the gates.
You pump up the supposed rivalry with Essendon like it's one of the biggest in the game.
And then you come out and provide us with this. 7 goals. Thats right, seven. The game was over within the opening quarter. I dont expect you to win just because its a "big day". But at least do something out there.
All's I know after that is, Good Fridays are still boring. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

What was the attendance? I don't see why they should play on Good Friday at all. It was fine when every game was on Saturday at 2.10. At least then it was fair for every team. |

To be fair they had to play Essendon because of ANZAC Day and give them a reasonable break. I suspect it may revert to the bullmutts next year. _________________ Annoying opposition supporters since 1967. |

Look, it was a fair balance, giving the divisive nature of football on Our Holiest Day. North appear in the game - but they don't actually play, so it keeps both sides of the debate happy.
Anyway, the game just spoils tradition. On Good Friday, you listen to Murray Head and Ian Gillan going hammer and tongs in the original cast recording of Jesus Christ Superstar, then you eat fish and chips and watch "Life of Brian". Proper religious observances, please. |

Not me. I had a Thai pork noodle dish and in doing so upset 3 religions at the same time. It was terrific. Today was Songkran day (well one of a week of it) where kids are supposed to sprinkle water on elders but the Thais and drunken foreigners take it up them selves to get drunk and soak every passerby using buckets, hoses and water pistols. Its insane and not as much fun as it sounds. Didn;t see the North game as it wasn't on Australia plus but the other game was and it was fun to watch. _________________ Annoying opposition supporters since 1967. |
