I don't think anyone's been rested. You can only rest players when you don't have so many injuries. |

Cox, De Goey, Adams and Moore will all be tested for this week.
And Varcoe will be back from suspension.
Going off early reports on the VFL, it sounds like Sier was quiet. Fans of Daicos, IQ and Goldsack might have to wait a bit longer too if all those guys are passed fit.
It's going to be an interesting week for the selection committee. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Out:Madgen, Wills, Reid, Wells (inj)
In:Moore, Adams, Cox, de Goey
If all of the above are available to return then we'll need to find another out if we want Varcoe to play.

They might rest a mid for Varcoe. Although Bucks won't want 5 changes so someone might come back through the reserves. _________________ Annoying opposition supporters since 1967. |

I think JDG, Moore and Cox are likely to be fit. I would not rush Tay in. In fact, I would not rush anyone in, and would absolutely insist that any incoming stars tick absolutely all boxes with no shadow of a doubt.
Assuming that JDG, Moore and Cox are ready, all three would come in, and Wills, Reid and Madgen would make way.
Varcoe for Wells.
If Moore needs another week, then Goldsack for Magden.
Clearly, if Cox needs another week, Reid stays.
If JDG needs another week, then we are in a quandary in my opinion (which is that Adams should be given 1 more week). Sier would be a natural selection for Wills, although it appears that he did not impress in the VFL, while Josh Daicos did. But Josh Daicos is not like for like with respect to Wills, because he doesn't have the big body. I was disappointed for Wills' sake in the game on Friday night: a few times he did not attack the ball with the energy one would expect at AFL level. He did a few nice things, but not enough, and was not able to hang on to many of the marks he was close to taking. However, why was he used as a forward target? That was a strange decision. Wills seemed to have more impact when he was on the ball.
So, in conclusion, I am unsure about what to do with Wills, assuming that we don't play Tay.
There is also the possiblity of selecting Daics to play a role similar to Wells, and then Varcoe to play a role in F50, and dropping Wills, but then our midfield definitely lacks a physical presence which can at no stage during the game be filled. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

Varcoe for Wells
Moore for Madgen
Degoey for Wills
Maybe’s
Adams (if ready) for Beams ( who looks injured to me)
Cox to play reserves for match fitness ( has missed 4 weeks now)
Elliott another weeks rest.
Freo’s small goal kicking forwards going to be the biggest headache here. _________________ Utter B@stards |

Agree. Match fitness and touch. Would be dangerous to bring him straight back in I think. Let him go kick a few in the magoos and sit on some people's heads
The player we really missed against the Swans, IMO, was Moore. Roughhead did a great job but there's only 1 of him. To a lesser extent we missed De Goey, but mainly because they insisted on expecting Wills to fill his shoes. I guess they're trying to give him a role his fitness can deliver but clearly didn't pay dividends. Before the Sydney game he'd taken a grand total of 1 contested mark over 2 senior games this year
Varcoe in for Wells is a no brainer. Moore for Madgen. No need for mass changes. If JDG and Adams aren't 100% we can manage without them for another 2 weeks _________________ https://forever.collingwoodfc.com.au/sav-sinks-the-dockers/ |
