I'm up in arms that JT didn't get a free in front of goal for a Carlton player sliding into his knees in the final quarter. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

That's a mean spirited comment Pies4Shaw, so I don't quite know why I'm laughing so much!!!! |

That 100m penalty was worth 5 free kicks on its own |

That’s even better! Ask em about the 2 bull shit 50’s |
. And Josh Thomas who should have got a free when the player dived in front of him. |
It’s a bullshit rule I reckon but if EVER there was time it shoulda been paid that was it. Nearly a serious injury to JT. _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

Are we deliberately trying to take some games to the death, practicing our ability to win a tight game, given our GF capitulation? Every game we take to the death when it really shouldn't happen makes me think so.

Geez MM, we aren't playing against ourselves out there!! The opposing team does occasionally have some say in what happens. |

Yeah same, that could've been a terrible outcome. _________________ WE WERE ROBBED, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, RIGHT IN FRONT OF MEEE!

Mihocek and Cox is the combo for me. In the last quarter I reckon Cox takes a couple of those air balls, while Reid was just ineffective in the air. In the last quarters when everyone is knackered is when Big Cox can take advantage. Reid is backup. _________________ RED "BABY" CAVANAUGH: Didn't hear what the bet was.

Agree, Reid needs to go. Still can't kick 40m. _________________ Magpie Jumper Gallery:

The worse thing is watching the stupid Carlton bullet on the big screen every time they kick a goal. Did they bribe the MCC to put that up? |

What's better than belting Carlton?
Letting them think they're a chance with their 79 premiership team watching, let them taste it, then cruel them in the last 5 minutes.
I enjoyed that. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Phew.
Just checking the final score from 41,000ft.
Was so hoping to put them away early and board knowing it was a win.
Anyway, only 1 win away from squaring the ledger against the Blues.
Hopefully Mason isn't too far away _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

That was a great win. Carlton came to play and had us on the ropes half way through the last quarter. It was superb that the team stuck to its method as Pendlebury acknowledged post game.
Grundy was incredible all match. He is our best and most important player. There was a lot to like but I’ll focus on a couple of problem areas.
First, Reid was awful. He could not win a contest. We really need the tall Texan back next week. He is a much better target. Glad that Reid has had a run though. Second, and I am a fan of Langdon, he was very ordinary today. He lacked aggression at the contest and was too slow in decision making today. He needs to lift his rating. Third, we need to tidy up our set shot goal kicking. While it was better today, JDG and Cal Brown need to ensure they kick straighter. Fourth, Billy struggled a lot today. He needs to find a way to be more involved when things don’t fall his way.
On the other hand, it was great to see WHE lift in the last after an anonymous game. He will only get better with more match conditioning. Sidey and Ads really lifted in the last and played well. Brown was superb - excellent forward pressure and very evasive. JDG was again very influential - he is a gun. Moore was good and so was Roughead. Greenwood was very solid and Crisp excelled off half ba club. Phillips continued his good form despite the 100m stuff up. I was also pleased with Wills negating efforts today - he finished strongly in the last and it is great that we have given him a taste of senior footy as he can play. Mayne was excellent until Sidey concussed him.
Looking forward, it will be very good to get Beams and Cox back into the side. There is starting to be competition for spots which is a hallmark characteristic of a top team. I think Reid and Wills get dropped but am not sure about who else - it seems that Greenwood and Aish are fighting for the same spot.
Next week we play the Saints - it would be great to see a more complete performance _________________ Daicos, impossible angle ... Goal! |
