Well some of their supporters do anyway.

Maybe they have a point since Daniher played for their club. The QBH game is not about the QBH, but about MND and Daniher is the face.

But when they have played Good Friday, Anzac Day, Dreamtime, you'd think they'd had enough.

You wouldn't think they'd be willing to give another day up either.

How would you feel if we gave up the QBH game in the future?

Get stuffed. QB is here to stay between Collingwood and Melbourne.

A club that has brought the game into disrepute only a few years ago and already has three marquee games doesn't deserve to be rewarded again.

It wouldn't matter if they had the 'big freeze', but they shouldn't get the QBH game. In other words, if they are going to pinch it then it should be in another round.

Great idea....given it is now about Freeze MND, it should be Dons v Dees.

TBH, it would do us good to play the Demons in a normal H&A fixture.

We have ANZAC Day which really is the real marque game anyways.

I think we should be playing Essendon, Carlton, Richmond and Melbourne twice a season given the long standing rivalry.

Well I'm good mates with the guy that actually thought of & suggested the QB clash with MEL many moons ago i.e., 2001.
The reason being the rivalry of the 50s/60s (the years he grew up) & although he is no longer at Melbourne, (is involved with Casey Demons now) even he has said its run its course.

Get rid of it.

I should add too, he has said if he ever gets the top job at MEL again, he will can it.
That & the fact the win/loss ratio is in our favour!

Who cares what their supporters think. Collingwood and Melbourne have put work in the Big Freeze event, they should continue it moving forward.

We kinda floated this back in 2017:

"Start rotating the Queens Birthday gate takings again?"

http://www.magpies.net/nick/bb/viewtopic.php?t=82488&start=15&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=neale

And I stand by what I said back then: A few of us have arrived at the conclusion that since this game is now the AFL focal point of awareness for MND [and that's great...] that it is time to pass the baton over to Essendon, as Neale has affiliation obviously with both clubs.
And the occasion is only going to grow in stature should he pass in the next few years.

Perhaps this QB clash should see us out?

Why should we subsidise Melbpourne?
MND is Melb and Essendon

Would be happy if we passed it Essendon. I’m not a fan of playing on public holiday and the public transportation is terrible. also over this waterslide stuff it’s boring now, maybe its time for something else

Neale Daniher is on seriously borrowed time. he's already lived way past the average for someone diagnosed with MND, so his time above ground is limited (no disrespect to all the great work he's done, just pointing out the obvious)

Will the Big Freeze survive long past his death? dunno. maybe, maybe get bigger, maybe not.

The QB game against Melbourne, with or without the Big Freeze has become part of the calendar and, as far as I know, Melbourne getting the gate receipts each game has ceased. It was normally programmed as a Melbourne home game so they got the money, this year was our home game so we should have got it. With that element of subsidising Melbourne gone, I'm happy to keep it.

As far as what Essendon want, I couldn't give a rotund rodent's rectum what they want.

Stephen Hawking survived 55 years from diagnosis

There are several different types of MND. Hawking essentially had a different form of MND to Neale Daniher. I have a friend whose wife died of MND about two and a half years after she was diagnosed. He gets very cross when people discuss her disease as if it was the same as Stephen Hawking's.
