Well done to the two Brodies, and Jaiydn for the performances in the game.

Hopefully the ALP win the election tonight, to top off a great day

Unfortunately the great day has ended badly

Another really good win. We are as strong as any team going forward (number 1 for marks i50 and 2nd for points scored) and have a strong defensive line (3rd or 4th lowest points against). When we get the game on our terms we are destroying the opposition. When the game is going against us, as it has for large periods, we have been able to hang in until the tide turns.

Our major weakness though is still with moving the ball from defence. We don't have enough highly skilled ball users and attacking runners back there. This results in the 2nd quarter today, where a team that is missing shots at goal can keep us locked into defence for almost a whole quarter. I disagree that the Saints territorial dominance in that quarter means they should have kicked many more goals. Their dominance was due to missing goals. Kick one of those and the ball goes back to a neutral situation and the game changes completely.

I think, unless he's a long way from being up to it, we need to be getting IQ into this team as soon as possible. Another option is to play Varcoe at half back. Greenwood's been playing well and Aish before his injury was solid, but I think we need more attack than they offer if we are to stop being locked into our defensive 50.

Unfortunately Inky, you can’t rush these young guys into the senior team until they meet all the criteria set by the coaches. Just because we have a need for his run and carry doesn’t warrant selecting Isaac until he’s ready to contribute. Otherwise you risk wrecking his career if you promote him too early and Isaac is too valuable a player to waste if he’s not ready. The reason we find ourselves in this situation is because Murray blew his career.

Just wanted to say that I though Levi Greenwood was really good Vs St Kilda. Not BOG, but he had a very good impact on the game.

Thought about starting a thread but nah.

I liked what he did Vs Saints. Great movement, great marking, good by foot.

Considering all our injuries, I was at three qtr time, happy if we could have won by one point, it was that kinda game, but we came out and smashed the living shite outa them, ureal, like we finally woke up, and snapped out of our dreamland, it was sensational. really. Exclamation Very Happy

It is interesting. The last 2 weeks I was sitting at home with a drink and the wonder poodle and thinking "when are you going to pull the finger out". You can sort of see it happening. metre here, a spare man, a player running into space , the solid mark in defence. If we can win every game before the bye, have a fortnight break to refresh the bodies, it will be watching other sides belt each other trying to catch us and the cats.

I just want to say that you made me laugh out loud for about 5 minutes. When I stopped, I watched Sidey's goal again, re-read your comment and laughed for another 15 minutes. Laughing

I wish we lost yesterday, if it meant the election result was reversed.
