I'm a big Jeremy fan and think he's been one of our best players ever since we got him, but....is it ok to be worried about him yet?

It's not just me, and he has been bad pretty much all year, right?

I know Langdon's the designated whipping boy of the backline, but he's been better than Jeremy this year.

no worries at all. I wouldn't tinker with the backline at all.

I wrote last week in the game thread that I thought Howe and Greenwood were responsible for most of Carlton's goals against us in the first half.

I think he's a great player and I suppose they carry niggles that are more problematic some weeks than others. He really is a flanker who plays tall, so I think they probably just had a slightly better forward line, aerially, than I thought pre-game and he probably wasn't quite on the right match up.

My view about these things is that we just want the team to get through reasonably intact to the finals and I'm not that much fussed by the in-season form. I think he's clearly best 22, though he's probably been our fifth best defender, ahead of Aish and Greenwood, so far this season.

Yep, agree P4S. No point in questioning the value of a player like Howe at this point of the season, especially when there is no ready replacement. He hasn't set the world on fire as yet, but I have faith that a classy player like him will improve at the pointy end of the season.

I don't think he's been bad at all. I'd rate him our 3rd best defender this year behind Crisp and Moore, averaging 6.2 intercepts and 5.0 rebound 50s.

Overall our defence is doing well (though again had major issues with transition), allowing the 2nd or 3rd least points in the comp.

I don’t think he’s been as good as last year ( to date ) but he did have a badly interrupted preseason with a couple different injury issues. It ain’t easy being at your best without a decent preseason these days.

Howe is integral to our backline.

Nothing to worry about.

He was in AA conversations over the last two years, but he's fine. Sometimes his kicking shits me, especially when kicking in, but like others have said, I wouldnt tinker with the backline.

He is not a KP player as noted. Needs to play on the more mobile types who take a chance. He wouldn't have played on Membrey if Moore played and probably towelled up some vanilla aint player instead. He will get a better match up next week.

Wasn't a great match up for him. Not sure how Goldsack is travelling but wonder if he would've been a more suitable inclusion than Aish?

Aish isn't my favourite but I thought he was fairly solid.
