Must win centre clearance it’s a short ground too a quick kick out of centre and you are having a shot 30 meters out |

Sydney's goals tally (taking out Franklin from the 5 games he did play) has been 8, 5, 12, 10, 6, 12, 12, 11 and 11.
They're not much of a side (their round 3 14 goals was their best effort and that was against Carlton but, apart from that game, they've only won games by restricting Essendon and North each to 10 goals and then just falling over the line).
They might beat us, of course - but it isn't very likely, Franklin or not.
We'd want to watch their second quarter, though, given our record - in the last 4 matches in a row they've kicked either 4 or 6 goals in every second quarter, win lose or flogging.
Mind you, they've managed no more than 5 goals after half time in any of those 4 games. In fact, their second half goals for the season are 8 (after being only 1 at half time, so it scarcely mattered), 2 (after being neck to neck with Adelaide at half time), 5, 3, 6 (after trailing Richmond by 33 points at half time), 5, 5, 5 and 3. These are not worrying numbers, especially for a team that's kicked 5, 10, 5, 7, 10, 3, 7, 11 and 11 second half goals. Whatever Sydney are, they aren't Geelong or West Coast, or Essendon playing their best on Anzac Day.

Be nice to play these idiots at the G for a change, instead of supporting Sydney’s coffers. _________________ VOTE NO. Cancel the Cancel Culture. |

He played well in the first quarter last year, so maybe play him on Buddy for one quarter and then switch. |

Yep, haven't played them in Melbourne since 2013.
Only played them twice here at the G in the last decade. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

And then Howe gets him 3rd quarter.
Buddy will be so disoriented, he'll think he's been sniffing something. |

Who for Langdon??? |
Goldsack played forward and back in the VFL (Mainly forward). He was good, presented well and I feel relieved that he's there if we need him. He can cover for Langdon if needed. Has a good track record Vs Sydney.
IQ has been emergency a few times. Has been travelling and developing nicely in the VFL. Playing with guys like Goldsack and Wells has been great for him. If he were at another club, he may have played a few AFL games by now. He could come in.
Madgen played on Franklin last year remember? I dont think he'll be considered for a call up yet, but he is a leader in the VFL backline. He was fairly good in the VFL last week, had a goal or two kicked on him, but overall, had a good match bar one dropped mark. Unlikely.
Those are your three possibilities to replace Langdon if your looking for someone to play the same role.
Otherwise Wells, Daicos and Sier will be considered as they all played well in the VFL. But we could still see Wills dropped for one of these guys. |
