Give Wells a crack on Buddy in 2nd qtr🤪😱lol

And then Howe gets him 3rd quarter. Wink

Buddy will be so disoriented, he'll think he's been sniffing something.

With a bit of luck, his hamstrings will detach (temporarily of course) early in the game.

Unbelievably, I was watching Madgen closely for quite a while in the VFL in Geelong last week.

He is a general in the backline. He is very vocal and was very good I thought, with the exception of one mark he should have taken. (It lead to a Cats shot at goal).

I was a little surprised to see him called up, I thought Goldsack was a sure thing to come in for Langdon (Sack was also very good in the VFL). I thought Madgen may have been a chance for an emergency spot. Not saying he doesn't deserve to get in, I just thought Goldsack would have been called first.

I'm happy with Wells in. He's been excellent in the VFL. This is his chance to say he deserves to be in this team that is a chance to win a flag.

With a lot of players looking ready to come back next week, there'll be a couple of guys that will need to impress the coach.

I feel like this is similar to last week when I said we need to make a statement. Not to win by 15 goals, but to win. Win with a weakened lineup. Win without several of our stars.

TBH, I'm expecting a scrappier shootout again. Parker, Franklin, Heeney, Lloyd and Kennedy are the players to stop. Grundy needs to do a number on Sinclair.

I am worried about this game, given the calibre of our missing players. It is time for Wills to stake his claim by limiting the impact of Kennedy. The addition of Wells is fantastic, as it will add quality delivery into F50, which will make us extremely dangerous when going forward. I am worried by the absence of Langdon, as I believe that he almost always has significant positive impact on our games with his ability to read the play, thwart opposition attacks and win possession of the contested ball off half back. On the other hand, it gives Magden an opportunity. I hope that he can seize it. I don't think we will be relying solely on Magden to stop Franklin:we will surely have prepared a plan for preventing Franklin from dominating which involves our mids and other defenders.

This is who is not playing this week:

Will be tested next week:
JDG
Adams
Moore
Cox

Suspended:
Varcoe (1 Week)

In the VFL:
Goldsack (Unlucky Re: Madgen)

Emergencies:
Sier
Daicos
IQ
Crocker

You'd want to have a good game.

Madgen! Didn’t see that coming. All the best to him.

Interestingly, none of the ins or emergencies have played a senior game this season.

Buddy loves playing against the big Melbourne teams it would appear.

Essendon 16 games 70.35 goals
Carlton 17 games 68.30 goals
Collingwood 17 games 66.35 goals
Richmond 18 games 60.43 goals

Lock him in for 4 goals folks.

4 goals we can manage. 7 goals would be not so good.

Let's not forget, there's a bloke playing, who's a premiership CHB.

He's playing some good footy at the moment too. It's great, we have some genuine options.... give Checkers a crack.

Any way you look at this game, we win.

Since the sides were announced, we've drifted slightly ($1.36 - $1.45). Really keen on the 1-39 here at $2.10. Put $50 on and get a tank of juice for the Kingswood. Mint Cool

I’ve been pretty scathing of the Wells experiment, prove me wrong Daniel, since Varcoe can’t wear his sisters shirt, get out there and bring it home.

Buddy is but 1 man/child, he’s chucks a tantee the umps will eat him alive, who’s gunna piss him off!

We got this, guts and determination, we have players out there playing for their AFL lives tonight, who lives for next week?

Go Pies !!

Be nice to play these idiots at the G for a change, instead of supporting Sydney’s coffers.

Yep, haven't played them in Melbourne since 2013.

Only played them twice here at the G in the last decade.

When the AFL arranged the fixture, this was to be Buddy's 300th game - an orchestrated move, but which we have fortunately avoided. Buddy is a hard opponent any game, but at least it's not his 300th as the AFL intended...

Wells be fine with a game but Magden being younger should pull out all stops
to cement a permanent spot
