You’ve got to stop worrying about Scharenberg. He isn’t “missed” - he’s in the seconds because he is about our 15th best defender, at the moment. Seriously, he’s behind Appleby, Noble and Quaynor and hasn’t been able to get a game with our best defenders injured. |

dont agree. Scharenberg is being managed i'd say. He is a star when healthy and fit. _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

Yes, we are missing Tom!!!.
Plus, as mentioned above, we had no Moore or Greenwood for this game. |

Average talls crushed Appleby and Maynard today. Great talls were no match for Langdon last year. Plus he holds the backline together with his ability to read the play and play off his man. It was like 6 guys playing on their own back there today.
REALLY miss Langdon's class, his leadership ability and his ability to play tall.
I fear his knee is shot though. Degenerative knees dont ever get better (they can only be managed). _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

Any news on when he may return?
He's been a huge loss for us. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Why not pick Goldsack if Shaz was not to be risked on a plane flight. Facing Cameron, Finlayson, Himmleberg and the resting ruckman.....
Anyway like I said we could have had the very best but what our midfield threw up in that first quarter it wouldn’t have mattered. 12 easy I50 in 18 minutes which gifted them 7 goals. _________________ Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy. |

He may be injured. (Have to check injury & illness thread again.) He's not named in the VFL side... Err... I see he's named at FF. But maybe he was injured last week, was he? |

A fit Goldsack I'd have played in front of several of today's team (if I'm just looking for the win). |

I agree. We are definitely missing Langdon's intercept marking and his ability to be at the right spot to contest the ball in defence and thwart many opposition attacks at ground level. Likewise Moore's intercept marking is a huge loss. But the central thing is the lack of our midfield pressure and the inability of our midfield to get on top, let alone dominate. Maybe Crisp needs to be reassigned to a midfield role, and Greenwood to play back. Maybe Pendles could also go to HB at times and allow Maynard a chance to run through the midfield. I think we just need to shuffle our midfield cards, because the current combination isn't working. The lack of connection between Grundy and our mids is also very frustrating, and I am not sure why we can't seem to solve it. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

K, review the last 12 weeks of the season last year. go on, watch ALL of them again. I want you to tell me what the secret was to our amazing undermanned backline. Watch how few forward 50 marks the opposition take. Look for a reason. See if there is a laconic blond guy appearing out of nowhere to annihilate contests.
Then look at how many forward 50 marks there have been from the opposition these past few weeks (and see if you can identify what the difference is). see if you notice how many contests we lose these days, one out!!
