Best place to watch this weekend

Hi all,

Of all weekends to find myself down in Melbourne town it would be when we are away.

What's the recommendations re place to watch and have a drinks?

Mate, the York on Lilydale Hotel in Mt Evelyn near me, has an excellent Sports bar, big screens, and a great Bistro Pub meals, highly recommended, but I guess that maybe a bit too far out for u, tho you could visit some great Yarra Valley wineries while u are out this way, its a major tourist attraction of Melbourne.

In Town, The Imperial Hotel and The Coopers Inn are good sports bars.
I'm also told the Turf Bar is worth a visit.

If you want to venture out toward the Pies heartland, I've usually found the Birmingham Hotel (on the Fitzroy/Collingwood border)
to have a few friendly Pies fans watching the match. The Royal Derby (close by) has big screens but is often empty.

So good to be home and watching in the comfort of 'The Peter Daicos Bar'.... although I did quite enjoy watching us pip the wiggles in a wet mess full of their flog supporters.

If you want easy access to TVs, fewer people, less queues and good food, The Prince Patrick in Collingwood is your best bet.

I wander down to Parkview on cnr. Scotchmere and St.Georges Rd where weather permitting the on street well heated bar (one big screen) or several inside bar
