These guys since 2012-2013 been Terrible. Each Season we seem to Run out of Players costing us any Chance at the Flag.

Even latetly letting Injured players play just look at Aish and Pendles. They really should not played vs GWS. Aish is no out with the Shoulder.

Then we have Langdon having Surgery now instead of about 9 weeks ago when he did his Injury. Could been back now IF he has his Surgery Then and been a Huge Help for us now.

This is 1 way the Review Failed. There was no real changes in these area on the Footy Department where been our Biggest Problem.

Things need to Change

The boot studder definitely has to go.

And let's not forget the tea lady....if we have one?

Yeah, the results at least have been terrible (whatever the reason for them). Try thinking of which of the last eight seasons were good and bad for injuries. I'm guessing at most 4 average seasons and 4 bad to extremely bad seasons. That's probably being generous. I don't remember any "good" seasons.

Well, the review failed because there wasn't one.

There was a good (or great) review of the admin side by now-Board Member (possible future president) Murphy.

There was a footy-department review by Walsh...

But Walsh can't review strength & conditioning, medicos and rehab. He doesn't have any professional knowledge in any of those areas. And no one in any area can properly review themselves.

Dave you need a weekly segment: "Dave the Man's Weekly Whinge". Wonder who you will want sacked next week.

This topic is really tough to view objectively from outside the four walls of the club. None of us are qualified to question their decisions or outcomes but for some reason, the evidence remains compelling.
We need to temper this by remembering there was a report only a few weeks ago that said injuries in the AFL had never been higher.

You also need to take out collision or impact injuries because that’s just dumb luck.
Having said all that, I find it hard to believe the club with all its resources, wouldn’t have explored all avenues connected with worlds best sports medicine practice.

Guess I’m just having a bit each way on this one.

Over long enough, dumb luck should average out. How long is long enough, we'd need to think about, but 8 seasons (or more) sounds pretty long, doesn't it? With impact injuries, you can still look at how long it takes for them to get back from rehab, etc.

I'd be interested to hear how many good, average, and bad seasons for injury Nicksters reckon we've had in the last eight. It's hard to recall, because it's all beginning to blur into one big nightmare.

Does feel like Groundhog day at the moment though. Every year it plays out like this:

1. Darcy Moore does a hamstring
2. Jamie Elliott does a leg injury
3. Daniel Wells doesn't get up
4. Taylor Adams does a leg injury
5. Ben Reid does a calf
6. Ben Reid does another calf
7. Tim Broomhead doesn't play at all
8. We do a minimum of 1 sometimes 2 knee reconstructions
9. We have a drug saga
10. We have a gambling saga
11. Scharenberg is recovering from a knee
12. Ben Crocker is still Ben Crocker

etc...………

I reckon another sign of whether a club has injury problems is whether everyone in it talks down their injuries. (Ours does.) The clubs that have got used to having no injuries talk up their injuries, e.g. one enemy coach whingeing in his presser about how "we could do with a little luck". Look at that guy's injury list now. It has one best-22 player out, and he reckons his club was so hard done by.

The only word that comes out of the club is from blokes who are also unqualified, e.g. the president, who was promptly slapped down by the coach -- he's not medical staff, the coach said. (But that now reminds me of the coach's words about a player being right to go that were promptly contradicted by the player's social-media post.)

Langdon would not be ready now if he had surgery 9 weeks ago.

It's been pretty obvious for years that our fitness dept has been a disaster for years now. Bad luck doesn't strike 9 years in a row. Our players are not strong enough, fast enough, and break down easily. Who's to blame for that?
To make things worse, the club isn't transparent about injuries or what they are doing about them. To those that say it's none of our business I call bs. We are invested in the club financially and emotionally....we have a right to know what's going on with our players, instead of saying "back - 12 weeks", "leg - indefinite". Farcical.

May as well fold the club, or merge with Gold Coast. We should have folded when Vic Park closed down. We've had a good run...
