^ Possibly. I liked his worked today, but he needs to get more opportunities, so I'd definitely play him for the rest of the season. The last thing I'd want is for him to be out again next week and they bring Beams back. Now that would be a terrible retrograde move.

His game today was not lost on teammates and coaches alike
Bucks dropped his name in good light at post game reveiw

Trav Varcoe mentioned him as a good thing after game interview

Wills physical presence at stoppages gave us the first chance at clearances all day....and for the first time all season. He was fantastic and one of the main reasons we won so easily.

And it helps when you’re finally instructed to play the same role you do every week in the VFL !
They obviously think he’s versatile.
Inside mid, decoy forward, tagger and ruckman ..... and that’s just in his last five ( ? ) games.

He gets a test this week against the Dees contested ball winners.
If we can break even on the inside with Pendles, Wills and Adams, we will split them open on the outside.

Wills and Adams working as inside mids and that released Treloar today into his preferred role. 35 disposals but he kicked more than he handballed and had 550m gained. Winner winner chicken dinner.

Need to keep this dynamic going...

Today was one of the best centre clearance games I’ve seen this year

And Wills had a degree of quality input—mids as a hole worked well

^ Great observation, Johnno. I was thinking along the same lines watching today's match.

Treloar was freed up to play his natural role on the outside with the inclusions of Adams and Wills as our inside mids.

Calm down... We played a vfl level side today. Wills has never had issues at vfl level... It was always the step up to AFL..... Still more needed to be seen

Agree that one swallow does not a summer make but the team in general was badly in need of a confidence boost and a tinker with on ball structure

To see if this succeeds in next three rounds with a veiw to a finals plan is yet to be verified

But as Mao said “A journey starts with a single step” which on Sunday we took

Actually, Basboy, Mao said "a million mile journey starts off with a step". Let's hope we're closer to a flag than a million miles. Shocked

Have not been the biggest Wills fan. He just looks so awkward; a lumbering Bigfoot next to Pendles grace. But credit where due, he played a good game and has an opportunity to grab a spot and hold on to it.

Actually, RubeBoy, the proverb "a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" has its recorded origins much earlier than Mao. The proverb is found in the Tao Te Ching with authorship ascribed to Lao Tzu in the 6th century BC.
