If so, good riddance. Hopefully they enjoy 60% playing time from a key mid.

If unfounded, glad to have you stay on board, Bear.

Been on our list for 4 years for only 18 games....so no surprise really

Once again, our supporters will overran him and desmand a 1st round pick, but, in reality, would be no loss if he went for naught.

Maybe we can trade him for Joe daniher.

With Wells and Reid gone next year, he could keep Moore company in rehab

And of course Essendon would give us nought, coz that's how they roll.

Well he wouldn’t be the first # 32 pick in the national draft who didn’t go on to carve out a stellar career.
If there’s a trade involved, then we get something back to use how we see fit.
That’s how it works.
I don’t think Hine got it wrong in terms of his ability. If Sier doesn’t want to make footy his focus in life, then it’s on him, not Hine.

Since when was 32 a "high draft pick"? Usually the guys taken there are actually useless. The exceptions have been Giansiracusa, Bernie Vince, Kurt Tippett, Greenwood, Josh Green and Joel Hamling. I don't intend to waste time looking it up - but it might be that Sier is the only one of those players to play in a Grand Final for the team that drafted him.

I remember a conversation I had with an AFL development officer a couple years ago. We were talking about Collingwood picking up Sier and he said something like, there’s always a gamble attached with picking up highly talented kids ( as opposed to mature age ) who haven’t come through the mainstream pathways.
His take was that it usually means they either enjoy being the big fish or simply aren’t prepared to do the hard yards that comes with the TAC pathway system.
Maybe, just maybe, he was onto something.
Sier has the time to improve but it’s running out quicker than he might think.

Bit early to be making a trade call methinks. No-one in their right mind would let that slip at this stage of the season. It would be like telling work that you are thinking of leaving at the end of the year.

Sier can be the jewel in the Magpie midfield crown for the next 10 years if he can get his body right, he is certainly getting plenty of opportunities. If he just wants a higher payday based on potential, I'm not sure Essendon have that much to throw around given all their signings over the last three years.
