Surely we win this match?
It's the easiest possible fixture that the club could ask for. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Will Witts thrash Grundy? Will P4S then declare that Grundy was best on ground? |

All we need now is Gold Coast to sack their coach this weekend and for us to be playing against the next future Norm Smith coach on Sunday. |

Well, it would be sad to see, if it happened. I didn't really want Witts to go (although I was extremely annoyed by his non-competitive VFL finals thrashing in his last outing for the Club before he left - I suppose he already he knew he was on his way out). Especially so if Grundy goes home to a huge Adelaide offer and we have actually witnessed a clash of the two best ruckmen in the competition, both identified as stars by us at an early age, while we look forward to watching Cox and Lynch ruck for us next season.
That has a slight feel of Footscray circa 1978 about it, doesn't it?

I want the pies to succeed. I really do. I don’t see that happening with the current coach. Part of me wants to see a shock loss so we can be a step closer to that happening. _________________ The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. Any sensible reason why we never see you on here when we’re winning ? |

I just hope that with the preparation this week, the team is fairly much left to their own devices, with no panicky micro or over-management from the coaches, simply just encouragement.
Sometimes the natural knee-jerk reaction is to ride them harder and over-burden with instructions, chastising etc. Hard as it would be for Bucks and the other coaches to stand back at this point in time, I reckon the best move would be to just give them some freedom on the track to enjoy being out there and bond together more. Allow them to shake off the indignity, disappointment and recriminations of the past weeks themselves and try to develop a sense of team spirit. |
