Are these a good or bad thing?

I've not really been to a wild bucks night, but have heard many stories over the years. I know of one Hens night that got out of control where the grooms sister confronted a certain situation and the wedding was almost cancelled. That was years ago now.

It just seems very hot or miss.

I know a friend that was so, i guess overpowering, that he organised the hens night and all they did was have a dinner or a short cruise along the yarra. He's very controlling and she is extremely quiet.

Are some people just too insecure or jealous that they dont want their partner to enjoy a night of celebration? Or is it wrong to be looking at other peoples schlongs or boobies?

It's come up at work because someone there is very upset. And everyones opinions are very, very, different.

I guess I usually feel the brides and grooms can be trusted, but sometimes its the friends who cannot be. I think I'm all for them providing they are not too wild.

Personal choice and somewhat between the 2 parties getting married. If the bloke wants a wild night with strippers and his fiance doesn't like the idea, buddy, get used to compromising.

My bucks night was at a pub with strippers. I taped a $20 to the sole of my foot in case I got hammered and left somewhere but I managed to pretend to be sober until we got home and I fell out of the car.

Another bucks night ended for me with getting arrested.

I don't think people do them much these days, partly because less people are getting married, and it's usually one of the wild mates who wants to organise it not the bride or groom.

Never been to one myself – don’t see the appeal, to be honest – but a good friend went to one quite recently (massive bender, rental house, stripper, etc.), and enjoyed it against his expectations.

I think if I did any kind of buck’s night, it’d be a relatively chaste affair – I find this popular cultural idea of one last night of debauchery before a lifetime of monogamous fidelity kind of weird, but then perhaps that’s because I don’t place much stock in monogamy to begin with.

So it's a bit more of a thing that I first thought.

The boyfriend of one of the girls in the bridal party has gone around contacting the other boyfriends to try to stop it from going ahead... He is very upset.

It's really weird.

Just the hens night from what I know.

He's embarrassed himself I reckon.

He obviously has security issues in his relationship. I’ve heard of the occasional night getting way out of hand, but no one o know personally has had it happen.

^ I think it’s a valid question as to whether someone with that many trust and control issues should be in a relationship in the first place. He certainly needs to deal with some of his issues if he wants to maintain any kind of healthy relationship.

Jealousy is a perfectly natural emotion, but once you let it take over, things can get very bad.

If you think that badly of your partner, then its probably best to move on. If she's a *ahem* free spirit, then that's obviously not a suitable match for a guy like that.

No point being rational when it comes to love though.

Mine was out of control. My younger brother was 15 at the time and skolled a bottle of vodka early in the night for $20.

I don't really remember much, except for the cops stopping us when my mates were pushing me down Canning Hwy in a shopping trolley and finding my brother tied to a washing line the next morning with his eyebrows missing.

Well the guy got what he wanted and she didnt go. Sad.

Turned out it was just a half hour sculpting clay with a live model who was a 6/10 from reports.

Interesting talking point anyway.

Did he have a Bucks night?

Regardless, not a great start to a marriage with one partner enforcing their will on the other
