North Melbourne full back Scott Thompson suffered a similar injury this year and missed one match after surgery. Steele should miss one match only ... (Fortunate to have a two week break to 1st final.)

This is an unfortunate injury to say the least. The players will have to wear codpieces at training and during games from now on.It definitely is a health and safety issue. Shocked

Recovery can take 2 weeks to 2 months.

The guy would have to be made of ‘Steele’ to recover in time.

It’s ‘nuts’ to think this guy will be right to play first week of finals, but I’m sure he’s got the ‘balls’ to play through a bit of pain.

He should run faster when he returns as he will be one stone lighter

You have to love front bums dedication. Most of us would give our left nut to play for Collingwood. It looks like Steele actually just did

1-2 weeks from finals, Collingwood still engaging in contact training.

Borderline embarrassing. Accident or not, what are our players doing participating in a drill that involves smothering the football?

I’ve seen footage of players going for unnecessary speccies, and the like. One bad landing from an ankle or knee injury.

I just don’t get it. It’s round 22-23 FFS.

Wow we can't take a trick. I agree with Raw Hammer. Minimise the risk at training just before the finals.

Did everyone at training yell “ball”?

First there was betgate, now we have ballgate. I can't fathom what kind balls up calamity will strike us next, but I'm guessing our next injury will involve a prolapsed anus after one of star players spends a pellet before the first final!
