Seriously though, this is an absolute shocker. I immediately winced when reading the news and have nothing but sympathy for Sidey. Wishing him a speedy recovery from what is undoubtedly a very painful injury.

So when Sidebottom is on the mend and the club takes him off the Unavailable list and puts him on the Test list, how does it actually ‘test’ that his nuts are cherry ripe? Does Walshy walk into the locker room, run his hand down the front of Sidey’s shorts and fondle his nuts while watching for a grimace?
Or does Sidey bring a note from mum along the lines of, “Dear Mr Walsh, I have spoken with Steele’s spouse and she reports that as of 10pm last night Steele’s gonads have returned to normal operational duty”.

Steele Sidebottom out of hospital after procedure on ruptured testicle. Magpies still unsure on return date, will know more early next week when he revisited surgeon. Feeling is it in similar range to Scott Thompson’s.

Honestly if it's fine to make jokes about a male with an actual medical problem to his genitalia then it should be completely acceptable to comically explore the ramifications if such an issue were to occur to a AFLW player.
