Its sad for Greenwood to be sure. Especially since this is potentially shaping up very well for us. Lucky we had a better percentage than the Eagles......

However, for the team, it wont be much of an issue. I actually think Aish and the Berg will come in for Greenwood and Noble in the prelim.

The bigger issue is obviously DeGoey who is irreplaceable.

I still think the team that gives us the best shot at the flag, is this team.

Maynard Roughhead Howe
Crisp Moore Berg
Phillips Adams Mayne
Sidey Mihocek Stevo
WHE DeGoey Elliot

Grundy Pendles Treloar

Aish, Thomas, Brown, Wills.

And from the best team we could possibly put out there, i think Aish might be in ahead of Langdon and Wills is in ahead of Beams! That is pretty good given all the injuries we've had.

The preliminary final team selection will depend on whether JDG is available and the opponent.

If JDG is fit, which seems unlikely, then there will need to be at least two changes.

Aish for Greenwood is a like to like replacement.

If JDG is out then we badly need another tall target in the forward line - Reid spears fit so he is the likely option.

As to Noble, he is a smart small defender so if we played against a Cameron then he plays as one of the match ups but if we played GWS then Scharenberg comes in as they have a tall forward line.

Its harsh, but also awkward that Greenwood apparently recently signed a 1yr contract extension. Maybe would have been of lesser value otherwise.

Wayne Carey at half time talking about Collingwoods ability to have runners off the back half time their runs past a stationary Pies player, run to gain ground and kick long into the forward line: "Brayden Maynard is one of the main culprits!"

WTF describing someone as a culprit meaning a misdeed?

He either doesn't know the meaning of the word or was in the Geelong camp.

Adams reported to have confirmed it's a torn ACL on radio.

Taylor adams said he copped a knock to back of his knee which pushed his knee forward in last few minutes before half time. Unfortunately looking at replay i think it may have been a Pies player that accidentally collided with him. Thats our luck. Was just before Geelongs last goal from Touhey where i think it happened. Very innocuous. Terrible for Levi.

It's just so gut-wrenching for Levi. I greatly appreciated the glowing terms in which Bucks spoke of him in his press conference and I hope Levi knows he may still have a role to play in supporting the team from the side lines ala Dunn.
We will sorely miss his courage, grunt and toughness.

Great to see people are coming around to the value of the "Will-derbeast" and the idea that Langdon is no longer in the best 22.

Sad for Levi though. Essentially out till 2021 and then aged 32, with a 1 year contract recently signed for 2020, you wonder whether come October when the season ends, it may be best for him to retire and move into an Assistant Coaching role.

To play one short next season after playing one short this year (Sam Murray) and two short previously (Thomas and Keefe) puts a strain on the list. Greenwood could add so much off the field as well as on. I guess we shall see this play out.

Gutted for Levi. He’s a huge presence in the team.
I have no doubt he can still play a big part around the club to help the team push for a flag.

Sad for Levi Sad

I think it's time to bring back Aish.
