Disciplined? He gave away that silly free to Ablett.

You are kidding, that was a complete over reaction from the ump, even Ablett didn't fake for a free, he is a very good player is Bruzzy

the umpire decided to step in and make up a free kick because he is a hero. that shouldnt have been called. He and Ablett were pushing each other all night and that was plucked out of thin air.

Maynard was ensuring that he was being physical with Ablett (a tactic that totally worked by the way).

If my protector/physical beast gives up the occasional free kick on the wing while performing the role of protector/physical beast, gives up the occasional free kick on the wing. i'll take that thank you very much!!

Love Maynard. He is fast becoming a superstar. He is an absolute gun down back, and you never see him screaming at team mates or disrupting team synergy.
I loved Heater too, and was devastated when we lost him.
But to me Maynard is of the same calibre, in terms of his fierce aggression on the ball, his extreme defensive pressure, and his creativity off half back as well.
He is so consistent and so courageous. He is also totally team oriented.
Whether or not he yet owns a Premiership medal, to me he is now of the same stature as Heater as a prized defender off half back.

Maynard has become one of my favourites. Such a reliable, tough, fierce player, yet one of the nicest people you could meet off the field.

Quite different styles of player, but equally as driven . Heater more skillful and better 1 on 1 but Maynard is more aggressive and physical.

Both are fast, both vocal although Maynard less demonstrative and both are team players who want to win.

I love Heater, still do, and I love Maynard.
