These guys:
James Aish. Returning from a shoulder issue. Fit to play.
Daniel Wells. Returning from a knee issue. Fit to play.
Tyson Goldsack. Retiring at seasons end. Fit to play.
Matt Scharenberg. Was dropped and named an emergency. Fit to play.
Travis Varcoe. Dropped last week and named an emergency. Fit to play.
Ben Reid. Returning from a full body replacement. Fit to play. (But he might just be a head in a jar like what you'd see in Futurama).
Josh Daicos. Was an emergency. Fit to play.
Braydem Sier. Returning from a calf and then concussion. Fit to play.
Jack Madgen. Dropped and named emergency. Fit to play. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Realistically I would have thought that only Aish, Varcoe, Shaz and Reid would be likely to come into consideration if required.
Daicos would be an outside chance at best.
The rest - unlikely. |

Aish and Shaz probably get looked at
Varcoe and Wells are a maybe
Reid very unlikely
the rest are nopes - Madgen, Sier, Daicos and Sack won't play finals. Madgen too raw, Sier has been superseded by Wills. Daicos - not finals ready. Sack has hung up the boots. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

I said on another thread that Elliott is the JDG of 2018 finals. Do you give Wells or Aish games and they can rotate through middle or wing. _________________ Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy. |

Oh, and Heath Shaw, if we need a high-quality halfback. |

I think Reid is very likely if you look at the team structure. Scharenberg doesn’t make sense to me as he is not a like for like with either JDG or Greenwood _________________ Daicos, impossible angle ... Goal! |

I think Wells and Varcoe come in for JDG & Levi. _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |

Depends who we play but Shaz and Trav would be my guesses. Wells wont play again _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Spot on it depends on who we play.
I can’t see Roughead going forward again if we’re playing either the giants or the tigers next. Both those teams have high quality KPFs.
If we play the Lions, we may release Roughead forward because their tall forwards have no body strength and very little presence in the contest.
Cameron is their man and we have Maynard to take care of their trump forward.
We have our own issues up forward now. Miochek will need help, he can’t be doing it all in the air. For mine, either Reid comes in or Roughy goes forward again and that allows Shaz or Madgen to come in down back.
The only “ good “ news about losing two players is that at least we now have two weeks to get their replacements up to speed for the challenge. It’s the only positive I can find amongst the rubble. |

I'd say Reid is likely to play forward in the absence of JDG. He solves various problems (forward target; ruck; key back insurance) and adds experience and strength. You need that in big finals. That leaves Scharenberg and Aish, with the former more likely given recent game time, and the latter a chance given an opponent with dangerous small forwards.
As others have said, JT is at risk of being dropped. Does anyone know if he was playing a defensive forward role against the Cats, or was he just quiet? I couldn't tell, but I do wonder if he's playing a role no one's picked up on.
Much like JT, Trav struggles to impact games enough, but JT has the advantage of being able to cover more ground.
I think we'd only roll the dice on Wells if we lose Jamie or Stevo, heaven forbid. _________________ In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

Aish a better replacement for Levi than Shaz. Hard, good grab, good kick and more mobile. Shaz a better mark, but slowed through multiple leg injuries. Need that speed in finals.
Varcoe or Reid for De Goey, depending whether the coaches want speed and frontal pressure (Varcoe) or another player to help Mihocek, who was monstered last night under the weight of multiple big defenders - he did a fabulous job maintaining the contest, but may need a chop out in the prelim. If sentiment rules, Varcoe for mine...just love him. |

Does anyone know if Cox has been training and could be available if we make the GF? _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |
