Thanks for this episode gents, really enjoyed the chat with Turtle. I've found myself in broad agreement with the perspectives outlined in Les' articles on the Roar and more recently the evolution of view regarding an EGM. In my mind too many of the initial reasons for calling an EGM have now been acted upon (Admin - Walsh, List - Guy, Coaching - Buckley) and the landscape has changed too much to now be able to claim a clear mandate on behalf of the signatories.

One area that I feel is unexamined in the conversations though is the transparency/accountability around the formation and membership of the EGM group. As much as people rightly point out the lack of transparency in the Browne bid (Who are they? What are their plans aside from not being the current board?) the group who intend to continue to push for the EGM (taking over from Turtle) remain an unknown actor in the story.

I'd suggest a reasonable question of their legitimacy to continue to push for an EGM has arisen in light of Turtle stepping back and the landscape changing. Perhaps there is a reason, but how are we to know? Who are they? How are people appointed to this group? What is their hope and agenda?

Whatever the answer to those questions, I find it very difficult to assess their legitimacy without some mechanism for insight (and therefore tend to presume an illegitimacy.)

The end is almost in sight for Collingwood's 2021 Home & Away season -- an end that couldn't come quick enough.

Collingwood's penultimate game was a smashing. Unfortunately, they were at the wrong end of it.

And, typically, the narratives around the loss stem from the instability surrounding Collingwood's future.

Join Sly and Spook as they look at the match against the Brisbane Lions, the condemnations surrounding it, the questions around the next coach, and the ongoing political drama.

I know nothing about the candidates, but would prefer a next-gen coach.

Based on a Jake Nial article from about a month ago, I like Jaymie Graham.

Again, I don't know anything about the candidates other than what I've read. (But I do like Graham because despite his youth, he seems to have had a lot of life experience.)

I will say that given the process Licuria and company are employing I'm confident that they'll make a good selection, and it'll also be somebody who addresses Collingwood's immediate needs, too (e.g. taking on a young squad).

^ Good post. I think a next-gen coach is the way to go, though whoever the club decides to appoint, I'll get behind it and hope it works.

Among the next-gen coaches, I think Kingsley, Yze, Caracella, McRae and Graham are the standout candidates that I can identify.

In a world of turmoil and uncertainty, Collingwood crowned their inglorious season with an equally inglorious performance.

But the year is far from over.

Who will be the coach? Who will be the president? Who will be on the administration? How will Nick Daicos be acquired? Did Collingwood miss out on another talented prospect? Where will Scott Pendlebury play? Is Brodie Grundy tradable?

Join Sly and Spook as they explore these questions and more in a H&A postmortem.

It's been one of the highlights of the week to tune in and see what Sly and Spook have to say about the state of affairs over the course of the season.

Love your work guys Smile

Thanks Sly and Spook, just watched the Round 23 episode. loved the analogy between Marcel Marceau and Browne. Also loved the Ross Lyon playlist of Blondie Hanging on Telephone. Both of these had me Rolling on the Floor and Laughing (literally).
Thanks guys for your consistency and your passion for Collingwood. Knowing that you would always rock up for the Collingwood rant, every week this season, regardless of the result (which this year has rarely been positive) has been a wonderful source of connection and solace for me. It is human to feel better when you know that someone else shares and understands your pain and your suffering!
