Here's a very basic run down of what Wright talked about

They're very happy with getting Kreuger - Most likely playing as a forward
Not ruling out Cox just yet- saying he needs to play more time as a ruck if he is to go on.

We would like to retain Lynch, havent heard anything form Hawthorn yet.
We need backup ruckman.

Happy with Pendles re-signing for 2 years. Good club leader, whether he's captain next year or not.

Lipinski - confident on getting a fair deal done, but did not want to elaborate. Chance of getting him in PSD, but prob leaning on getting a deal done first.

So nothing we didn't really already know, but good to hear from the great man.

Interesting interview. Not a lot of love for Josh Thomas.....

Very promising on the Lipinski deal happening.

Hearing Graeme Wright just now I would take away the following:
- JT not offered new contract - unlikely to be with us next year
- Cox not yet offered new contract - unlikely, but see what happens
- Lipinski - PSD is an option - preference is to not go down that path though

Key point he noted re Nick Daicos bid - we are only allowed to use the same number of picks as per available list spots to match the bid.

Therefore if we have 3 spots on our list, we can't use 27, 36, 43, 46, 48, 55, 58 to match it. We can only use 27, 36 and 43

He knows his job and how to answer but not put all cards on table

Interesting when asked if they would walk Lipinski thru
“I’ve never done that before but then again never finished 17th before “
Good one Graham

Gotta say, I thought it was a great interview where he answered every question but didn't actually say much of what he was thinking / doing behind the scenes.

I love that

Does anyone think that a "one out of left field" trade could be done with Hawthorn, with Lynch heading there and Mitchell coming to us?? Not sure what money he's on though and whether we could fit it under our cap.

OK, so we had 3 retirements, Greenwood, Mayne and Tohill. We've already added Kreuger and chasing Lipinski. That would only leave 1 spot so we'll have to either delist or trade out other players to have enough points to get Daicos and Dib and restock with rookies or the PSD.

Tohill is a category B rookie and doesn't free up a spot unless Keane can take his place (you are only allowed 1 Irish player as Cat B and Keane has another year as Cat A rookie left after they extended rookies another year because of Covid)

Lynch won't free up a spot either if his deal goes through, he's a Cat A rookie so you would imagine Thomas, Cox and Sier in real trouble

That makes things awkward

Lippi and Kreuger replace JT and Cox.

Mayne, Levi.. Does Tohill Count ?

Do we need to delist more players ? or maybe we already have a shorter list size, and maybe we have access to more picks to use than we realise ?

We traded 22 for 27,under the circumstances, that move doesn't make sense. Something is amiss.

^ ^ ^

Rantall off primary list and then re rookied after the draft has been put out there as one option.

I thought we had one spare rookie spot up our sleeve. Didn’t we have three selections in mid year rookie draft and only use two ( ? )
My best guess would be that if Lynch is traded ( assuming he’s on rookie list ) then that would leave us with two spots to fill on rookie list if we did have a spare spot in the first place. Happy to be corrected if anyone’s got the answers
