Post subject: Ginnivin’s Bravado seeping into the entire team? | |
|
Is it just me or do our pies exhibit a little bit of a swagger that we are not used to seeing in Collingwood teams. And is that translating to good team chemistry and a belief in each other and our collective ability to win?
It certainly feels like it.
The fun is back, the energy is back and the confidence is back. And its most reflected in our little blond energy ball up forward.
Separately, DeGoey has become a top 5 mid in my opinion.
And finally, how many running line breaking half back flankers does a team need. By my count we have about 8 and they are all guns!!!!
Moore, Howe, IQ, N Daicos, Pendles, Noble, Crisp, Maynard!! Except for the fact that Sidney and J Daicos play a little more forward of the ball, it would be 10!!
Love ‘em all!!!! _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

Change of coaches, board/prez and game plan might have something to do with it too. |

I too like to see Ginni's cockiness and bravado. But the real test for him will be how he responds to the hard cold reality of life as a pro AFL footy player. According to those who have followed his junior career he's always been an effervescent player. But cheeky on-field antics are easy when there's little negative come-back from the few hundred spectators watching from the sidelines. Its different when there's 40,000 negative sledgers throwing crap at you from the boundary every week when you stuff up - as he did last Sunday against the Blues. And bad words thrown at you when out socialising, shopping etc alone and with family and friends. How will he and his associates respond? Will it affect the way he thinks about playing and therefore how he thinks about himself. Will he continue to bubble over when he snaps a goal and stick it up the opposition supporters? Let's watch and see what unfolds from here. My concern for him is that his extroverted behaviour is so much a part of his football that to uncouple it may change his self-identity and turn him into a shadow of the player he is. The talent and dare may vanish leaving a hollow and unhappy young man. I remember a similar player called Alex Fasolo who was also vocal and demonstrative. He failed to deal with the real world of AFL footy and crashed and burned. I hope young Ginni copes better. |
