"Finlay Macrae was the best for the Pies in their 59-point loss to Box Hill on Sunday, picking up 28 disposals and putting plenty of pressure on the Hawks with eight tackles.

2022 mid-season draftee Josh Carmichael also impressed with 26 disposals and 11 clearances.

Will Kelly was solid with 12 touches and five tackles while Trey Ruscoe gathered 23 disposals.

Returning to the VFL after a quiet seniors game against Brisbane last round, Reef McInnes kicked a goal but again found it hard to rack up possessions, finishing with just seven touches to go with six tackles.
