Know anything about Kiara Henry? would be a good fit for the VFLW team I reckon.

Tarni Brown heading to Carlton. Too soft in my book. I’m sure she’s a great person but we need more mongrel.

Four players delisted by the Pies, Jo Lin, Sophie Casey, Liv Barber & Imogen Evans.

https://www.collingwoodfc.com.au/news/1475299/pies-confirm-list-changes

Barber and Evans struggled to break into the AFLW side, disapointing for Liv as I thought she woud be a good option as a ruck but you need to have a bit of bulk not just height these days if you want to be competative.

Jo did make a few appearances but didn't cement a spot, was merely servicable whenever she played.

Sophie was a dependable defender, always givng 100% and could lay a mean tackle. Sad to see her go but Pies likely looking to the future and bring in some younger talent.

I think Jo missed the entire season before last with a shoulder injury, and then again was injured (foot?) this season just concluded. Would have been nice to be given an injury-free chance at it though. Hope she's picked up by someone else and does really well (not Blooz though).

Imogen is the one i would have kept.

Thanks to the rest for your services.

One thing tho we need a ruck as thats the only reason we are keeping Fredrick.

I think the draft is weeks time.

I will target tall forwards.

Time to go to young talent again and work our way back into contention.

Is Graham Wright actually now over seeing the AFLW department at Collingwood i would be more confident if he was.

To be honest if feel he was just floating along to see how it was going with out him involed and lets seeing how it pans out before jumping into the drivers seat.

Thought 2023 was a good sighter and a chance to gauge where the program is up too and heading.

Now its the right time for Wright to have more influence on it.

Then gradully handing the program over at some stage so its always in good hands.

Getting a bit done with lossing players ala Molly and now Brown to lowly clubs.

Time we got back something in return.

As in compensation.

I have heard first hand from players in the VFLW and AFLW, both Collingwood and non-Collingwood players that there is little to no interest from the club in the womens program. VFLW in particular. Which is interesting as we have been one of the better performing clubs in that comp.

Well the AFL doesn't really take it seriously, otherwise they would have next season dates set already rather the the hodge podge way it has been done in the past.

New signings:

Murieann Atkinson - Irish recruit signed 2 year deal as a Cat B rookie

Kalinda Howarth - Forward the Suns. Part of a three-way trade with Lions & Suns. Pies also give Pick 59 to the Suns and give Pick 68 to the Lions

Annie Lee - Defender from the Blues. Part of a four-way trade involving Carlton, North & St Kilda. Lee arrives at Collingwood in exchange for pick 48 and Tarni Brown goes to Carlton. Pies also receive pick 31 from the Saints and pick 59 from North Melbourne (on traded to the Suns)

Mikayla Hyde - Midfielder/forward from Fremantle. Part of an 11 club mega trade deal. Pies also receive Pick 29. Ash Brazill goes to Fremantle with Pick 31.

Disapointing to lose Ash but it was doubtful that she would continue playing and her partner has family in Perth - she was recuited from Perth (West Coast Fever) when she initially signed with Pies netball.

Tarni struggled to get game time this season and has had patchy form. A change of scenery may do her good

thought Ash Brazil retired tho.

but good thats shes got one more left in her.

As said Presti35 yes the girls at the Pies look apart from the lieks of Bri Bonnici and Ruby the rest look to footy like a fun thing to do.

And they mostly have other jobs and if not are like at college lets say.

They like playing as its fun but thats it.

they do not like feel that they have to be really good at it either.

Seames to me Collingwood aflw and vflw is like a girls club and like a social outlet apart from the pubs etc... something to do that is fun

They get along very well from accounts and just seam to like have fun together and its a bit of a thrill for them all.
